MarkyMark, :grouphug: Thought of you in church this AM. Our asst pastor, also Markymark, preached.

Your message here made me soooo happy. Then Shelby and Lou made me laugh.

All is well.

.....is a fastpass!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I'm just a newbie, and MarkyMark (you, both, rock and roll!!!) said it all, so I'll not get too...whatever. I'll just say the following:

THIS is the place.
YOU are the people. The friendships that have been formed here and the fun that is had (daily) is real. Quite. And magical. Very, very.
And there's NOTHING that can change that.

My new friends,
Vikings and Ninjas submit not to the rank and file of the *they*.
Or to the *them* for that matter.

There's too much love, fun and truth here for that.

Shutting up now...

but first,
a song by my beloved Robbie Williams:

I adore you all.
Really, really.

xx, Sid

Sid babylil'sis~

You rock sweetie!!! Really, really.

Mark...very well said, and powerful
Nothing can tear us apart.
We have formed friendships that are too deep.
Like you said, people are actually planning vacations together for crying out loud. How special is that!

I wish I could come, seriously. I am very sad that I cannot be there as I would love to meet every single one of you.
If anyone is ever in my neighborhood, make sure you stop and say hello!
But I do have four trips planned in the next ten months so , perhaps I can meet up with some of you then.

Alrighty then, turn about is fair play. And all that.

Here are some gems from not-beloved-by-me-at-all GB :teeth:

"Those who enter the country illegally violate the law." --George W. Bush

"Wow! Brazil is big." --George W. Bush

First of all, Mark, Loubon and Shelby! Three very different posts, all lifted my spirits. Thank you! Shelby, that baby set is hysterical! LMAO! :rotfl2: Marky, you know, that was just a nice message, and really inspiring. Glad you aren't jumping ship. But I did read your tr over there, you know in that other place. I am following it! You rock, rev. Loubon! Too cute, luckily, Chappie changed his mind in adulthood! He's all mine now! :teeth: But I don't blame him for kissing Lala. She is mighty sweet!

Now, I hope all the family's enjoyed their daddy's day.

The Horsegirl clan headed for a pristine lake for the day. This was an incredible day. Finally! After weeks and weeks of cold rain, we got the weekend of a dream. 80s and gorgeous sun.

We stepped out and zipped around in our ski boat, the kids swam, as did mommy. It was so exhilirating. Folks, I love the ocean, but there is nothing like swimming in a crystal clear lake. A famous romance writer has just moved next to my parents at their lakeside home. She was out in her boat today, with two tatooed boy toys, 30 years her junior. She is 54. They were no more than late 20's. She was donned in smashing red, with big Jackie O shades, and a red hat. Quite the interesting scene. One of the boys was a looker, I have to admit. So should be an interesting summer.
A flock of Canada Geese swam by. Mamas, Papas and babies. Had to share that with you.....

Spend a week, or a month, or a summer on a lake, just once in your life. There is nothing like it.... :teeth:

Horsey, I have to agree with you. Today we spent lunch out by the lake.
Luckily for me I live right off of Lake Ontario (the lake is really big so I don't think anyone can pinpoint the town). You can see the lake from most points in the city. In the winter it is a bear, because it dumps feet of snow upon us, but in the summer I trully appreciate lakeside living. In about 15 minutes I can walk and be in the water.

Today we took Andy's parent's out to this place right on the lake for lunch. (Today was also his father's birthday). We also went there last night, just the two of us. Last night we actually sat by the water, today we didn't. But from our seats we could watch the speed boats and the jet skis go by and just watch the water.

We have kayaks and we take the out on the lake, it's really beautiful. I will have to take some pictures one day while I am out in the water.

But Horsey your post said what I have been thinking the past couple days, I love the lake. I love being by it.
(Except for in the winter :teeth: ) I hate it then.

Ok guys, I am off to go try to call my father.
Wish me luck. I need it.

Love you all.

Nice pic, horsey! :teeth: Sounds like a fun day!

We had a relaxing dinner here with my parents and now DH is watching TV golf. It's his day so you go, honey! :thumbsup2 :teeth: :rotfl:
(I'd rather watch grass grow!) ;)

Good Luck, Pongo! :wizard:

Love the will work for shoes! :rotfl:

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! :wave2:

Ok my dad wasn't home.
But they screen their calls, so I really don't know.We shall see what happens, I left a message. Two actually, because the first one was me asking if anyone was home.

So, Andy and I are going to go take a walk and get some ice cream.
The place that sells Dole Whip :)
Eat your heart out guys.
But I have never had one.
I will check in later, I have homework to do.

Happy Father's Day!

I already posted a pic of my DD once, here is a great shot of my boys:

Pongo Jenn,
Hearts out to you this rocky day...

Sher, Chris, ma cherie, you KEEP me in laughter!!!!!!!!!!

Horseygirlfriend, I loved your day and tale and picture. Remember what I said about New Hampshire, so I totally get it about the lake! Now, who's that writer????? I love that image!

Hey! Hope you're having a great Father's Day. I had a thought that hit me in Sunday School this morning, that I wanted to share, that I hope, perhaps, won't offend. I've been mulling and stewing these last couple of days, as most of you know. And I popped in here for a minute while taking a break from all the Father's Day activities.

Here's my thought. There's a story in Acts right after the Day of Pentecost. In it, Peter and John are arrested for preaching in the temple about Jesus. All the Sanhedrin (made up of the Pharisees, Saducees - basically the leaders of the Jewish temple) gathered and tried to decide what to do abouth them.

Well, one guy, Gameliel (I think that's how you spell his name - would have to look it up and my Bible is on the other end of the house and I'm being lazy) stood up and said, something like this. He said, we have put down uprisings in the past. In those days, the Romans just tolerated the Jewish folks. They weren't officially recognized as a religion, because according to the Romans, Caesar was the head of all things. It was feared by many of the Jewish leaders that anything that brought about too much attention, i.e., riots, etc., might also bring the Roman government down on them as well, and they would lose their ability to carry out their religious life as they had been accustomed.

So Gameliel stood up and reminded them of the movements they had stoppd in the past - zealouts who wanted to fight against Rome. But he said that if this Christian movement was of God, then there was nothing they could do to stop it anyway. No matter how hard they tried. Then, knowing that he had a point, they had Peter and John flogged and then sent them on their way, telling them to not preach about Jesus anymore.

Funny thing was, the very next day they were back in the temple preaching.

Here's how this relates in my mind. Many times we have heard people say that this group of rag tag folk from so many different areas of the country, oh wait, Canada too (eh?), have come together for a reason. I know we all have different political, and religious beliefs and thats fine. But I do believe that God has a hand in all things good. And for me and Rhonda, this group has been good. Its amazing to me that I can think about so many people whom I have never even really met, and pray for them and worry about them, and think of them when I use words like guano in Scrabble.

But in that I can see God's hand. At whatever level, and for whatever reason, we have been given the gift of friendship - of Maelstrom. We do worry with each other. We care for each other. We're friends. Things happen sometimes. We are not always in control of our own lives and the decisions that other people make always effect us, whether we want them to or not.

But as I see it, if this is a gift from God, there's nothing anyone can really do to keep us apart. Sure, our presence may not be deemed desirable in particular places. But there are enough of us with email addresses that we will stay in contact, regardless of what might happen. We're making a pilgrimage to Norway in October, for crying out loud. In my mind, this is a God thing. All of us needed what has happened here or we wouldn't have found the deep friendships that has come so quickly.

So chins up Vikings. Even mine. Our friendships are bigger than any silly old lock down. God is bigger than any person in any position of power on this earth - even President Bush.

In my mind this is of God. And in the words of Gameliel, if it is, there's nothing anyone can do to stop it.

Maelstrom!

Blessings!
MarkyMark
