Hi everyone!!
Just got the kids into bed. I think I need to take a hit out on my local ice cream man. Two nights in a row he has come after 9pm. The other night, we could HEAR the truck, but we never SAW it. Tonite, we heard it for about a half hour, and once they hear it, they HAVE to wait for it. Especially when ALL THE OTHER KIDS ARE DOING IT!!!
Spent the day trying to enjoy the beautiful weather... Ended up tending to DS who has yet another gross scrape. This one covers his ENTIRE knee. Did I ever mention he HATES to see his own blood. The WHOLE neigborhood knew he was hurt.
Then it was (once again) off to the gym. Skaters change directions.
I gotta say, ASH, I feel your pain about the commute, although yours is worse, cause I don't have to get up at 4 am. But all this tunnel/bolt/Big Dig business is messing up my life.
It USED to take me 20 minutes to schlepp DD to gymnastics. NOW it takes almost an hour. This also means I can no longer just drop her off, because sitting in traffic for an hour on the way to gymnastics is about all I can take with kids. NO WAY am I gonna then turn around and do it again, just to get home for a half hour before doing it again!
This means I get to spend 3 joyus hours in a gym with no air conditioning, listening to my oldest DD (age 7 going on 16) complain to me about how I am ruining her life by making her sit and wait for her younger sister. (It doesn't matter that I have found several parks to take them to...nor does it matter that I pack snacks, drinks, balls for them to play with, jump ropes, gameboys and even the portable DVD player for when all else fails...apparently I am giving the MEANEST MOMMY a run for her money.)
Now, I have to clean up my house. Again. I thought I did this yesterday. I am not sure how, but my kids seem to have set the world record for making a mess with their toys. We spent NO time inside today, so I am not sure how they managed to spread their things all over the house. Perhaps it is a plot to keep me from DISing...
