Reading Scary Books When You're Home Alone

Last scary book I read was The Exorcist when I was in high school. Finished it about 3 in the morning and walked it out to the alley to throw it in the garbage. Couldn't stand the thought of having it in the house. I spent the rest of the night waiting for my bed to levitate - I was sure I was next. About 5 in the morning our cat jumped up on the open piano - I was so scared I literally could not move! Never again!

LOL! Good to know I have company with the whole throwing out thing.

I read The Exorcist at my college's library, thus preventing me from purchasing (and probably discarding!) that one too.

Another vote for Pet Cemetary...this book scared the dis edit out of me... I was reading it alone and freaked myself out
