Had problems again. Third practice run (and running out of them since Wednesday we'll be at HS). At 7am today, instead of being able to hit third join, it asked me to remove myself from the party and I'm the only account member who manages everything. This is the second time that's happened so not sure how to fix that.

Now I'm super nervous we won't get one when it counts 😞
The screen that says you don't have a reservation is actually a success! If you had a reservation, this is the screen that would have shown you your boarding group! Since you don't have a reservation, you can't get the boarding group.

You have to be in the park to get one of the 1pm boarding passes unless thats changed. 7am drop can be done from anywhere.
You don't have to actually be IN the park at 1, but you do have to have entered the park prior to 1 (i.e. you can be in the park in the morning and leave, and then get a BG from wherever you are at 1).
I don't have a park reservation on practice days. Starting tomorrow we will have a park reservation for Tues-Fri. From other posts I assumed you didn't need one when practicing
You don't need a park reservation to practice. On the day you DO have a reservation, everyone in your party with a reservation will automatically be selected.

since my mom has her own account but she is included in my friends and family "people I have plans with" will it add her to the party when I attempt to get the boarding pass? How does she add all of us to hers? if she adds us to hers should we both try to get the boarding pass?
Your mom will be included when you attempt to get a boarding pass the day of your park reservation since she is included in your friends and family. She doesn't need to try and get a boarding pass using her MDE account. We had trouble getting a boarding pass when using two different MDE accounts but had no problems at all when just using one MDE account. You can have multiple people logging into your MDE account and that seems to work to increase your chances of success. :)

She can add all of you to her MDE account by checking her settings in her MDE account. Make sure they are set to allow everyone to view her plans.

Yes, you have to have tapped into the park by 1:00 to get a BG. But to practice, which was what I was doing, all you need is MDE connected to the internet. You can practice at 7:00 and/or 1:00. I’m not willing to practice at 6:00 AM my time, but I’ve had multiple successful practices at noon my time.

From here in CT, I got BG 7 this morning for my daughter and her boyfriend who are at WDW. If anything I’m too good at this now as they were called for 9:40 and would have preferred a later time!
Ride has been down all morning so they should be fine.

So yeah had me and my wife trying at 7 am. Used old phone on hotel WiFi to see gov time clock.

She got BG 1.

Boarding started at like 8:40. We had Ogas at 9:15. When we went that way afterwards the ride was down. Came back on before 11.

Walked on then. Got full preshow and it brought tears to my eyes.

We were on the same ride yesterday! We had BG-5 and got there just went the ride went down. We went back on just when it opened back up! We also rode it on Sunday. Hopefully, without giving away any spoilers, Sunday's ride had the social distancing measures in place in the pre show and yesterday's ride had most of those social distancing measures in the pre show removed. It was almost back to normal except we had to wear masks.

We have a party of 6, but only 4 want to ride. I know that I shouldn’t stop to deselect anyone at the joining time, but is it possible/recommended to unlink them beforehand somehow so they aren’t on the friends and family list?

We’d like to improve our chances by having a smaller group and also not take up what would be 2 unused spaces from others if we do get a BG.

Having 2 less people won't make much difference, it won't be worth the trouble to unlink them.

I agree and, this also gives the option for 2 people to ride twice if you wish.

Not related to ROTR, but my husband and I have reservations at Oga's at 9:15 in June and I was curious if all of the drinks were available there that early or if it was limited since it's technically breakfast? There are a couple of different menus floating around and I really want to be able to get the souvenir cup and some of the other drinks. TIA!

I appreciate your desire to leave those 2 spots for someone else but like the others have mentioned it won’t be worth removing them from your planning party which could risk other plans you all have together.

You can go to GET and have them give the 2 people who are not riding, a pass for something else since they will be giving up their boarding group (they may/may not get something).

We were there from 5/6-14/21 and DHS on 5/10 and 5/13. We scored BG 14 on the first day and BG 4 on the second day. Guess my 62 y/o fingers are still pretty nimble! I did the the clicking and my husband counted down the time.gov seconds. I had practiced many days at 1:00 p.m. at home and knew my phone. I needed to hit join on the first screen (At-At) when the clock struck 6:59:59 and zip through the other two thereafter. Worked like a charm both times.

Yay! Can I ask, did you do anything "different" with your phone? Such as: turning off WiFi, keeping it ON, etc. I think I'm becoming a pro at the process, I just don't know how the phone should be, or look like the actual day of, if that makes sense. For the record, I'm trying this from the Boardwalk Villas in June. I don't know what the phone situation is like there, do we stay in the room to do it, or go to the lobby, things like that.

I don't turn WiFi on at Disney because my Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5g--works better without it and I hate the way WiFi in Disney just eats through battery life. So, no WiFi; in our room (4059 at BWV) and nothing special on or off. Good Luck!
