I just tried my first practice from Illinois using wifi. I got through the second join screen immediately using the pre-alignment method but then it just lagged, never giving me the bottom join button. Just kept spinning on the "checking for friends and family screen." Did I miss something or is this a function of bad wifi connection?

I practiced from home today and the same thing happened to me. I've been practicing daily and I am successful roughly 80-90& of the time, but today it just spun and spun on the "Friends & Family" screen. Since it happened to so many of us, maybe something weird with the app? I will be so upset if that happens on our day this coming February!

was up again at 6am this morning. Hate the lack of sleep, but allowing me to practice more for Jan trip. Brought up the official time clock on ipad. Went in and out of Joining a few times in the min before. At the exact second I went through the clicks and got the BG for a 3rd day in a row. (all practice)

Nice, I was successful too, but also had the lag others reported. I have a brand new Google Pixel which has been keeping me successful at getting through. My iphone has been slower for getting through, but using both to keep practicing. Down to 4 weeks from tomorrow for us.

If I am right, it should ask you about your park reservation and if you have one. Something like that.

Boarding group 55. Woo hoo!

Got it at the Ft Wilderness cabins (from the living room couch) on verizon 4G with 3 out of 5 bars. DH got it using a pretty old android phone - an LG G5 which is 3 or 4 years old - so it can happen! He also got the lag today, which hadn't happened when practicing, but we still got through! He used time.gov to count down to 7, and hit the join button at 6:59:30. Location services on our app were off.

As of now, we're scheduled to be called at 2-ish. Fingers crossed! And thanks to everyone here for their information.

Just for reference, I tried tapping as fast as possible for the 2:00 drop practice today and was successful. The join buttons were just barely not aligned perfectly, but I just kept tapping as fast as possible (until now I’ve just been tapping when the button shows up and it registers in my brain). Note that I went back and forth between the first 2 screens a bunch of times before 2:00 (12:00 my time) and I think that made it faster.

Are you practicing the morning time? Because i am at 6am, but to have to do that at 5am, ouch. lol

Lol I was for a while but I’m not doing it anymore . I’m just practicing at the 2:00 drop (at noon here) and I figure if I can be successful at that time I’ll be successful at the 7:00 drop for the real thing

I have not personally done this. We go in Jan, but everyone has told me that when it is 'Your Day', every member of the party with a HS reservation is automatically clicked and included. not during the test runs, but when it is game time for you.

Same thing happened to me today and it usually doesn’t! Maybe something was wrong with the app?

Same thing happened to me today. I’ve been practicing for a week and have been successful. However, today, when I tried, I immediately got the red screen, but I hit my back button and tried again, then I was successful. It was probably 10 seconds after 7 am.

I'll do you one better I just took some screen shots.

On the home page I positioned the join button so the second one was in the same spot. See how you need to position it on your phone but it should be similar then at 7 AM or 2 PM immediately touch join and keep touching the same spot as fast as you can that way when the second page loads you hit join faster than if you were waiting for the page to load.

Thank you so much for this advice - we had to give up our opportunity to try for a 7am BG because we had a chance to see a dear friend outside of the parks in the morning, but we made it there before 2pm and we got our BG and had a really great ride. I'm convinced it was your advice that made it possible and I really appreciate it!

That’s awesome I’m glad it helped. I’ll try for real for the first time tomorrow. I’m going to try and help my brother in law get one in the morning. Fingers crossed my tips help him and me when we go on Dec 22.

I got my brother in law BG 1. I sure hope my tips work for me when I go. They had 7 and the time to load the friends and family screen was only a second or two. Of course I’m at home on my WiFi that I assume is much faster and certainly less crowded than Disney’s.

I tried, the app won't update to the newest version on my phone, it just gives me the most compatible version. It says I'm updated even though I'm really not.
