Yes, not 100% sure if it frees it up for someone right away or not, but good to do it just in case it does help someone else.
Unfortunately, removing doesn't open up for more this morning, but if they're going through the bg's faster this morning because of it, they should be able to open more opportunities for the afternoon bg drop

I think I'll skip practicing at 2 pm today so I don't inadvertently take a BG away from someone in the park.

One other thought... since many of us practicing from home were getting a BG for a single rider (not selecting our entire party), theoretically, there should still have been lots of spots still available for those actually in the parks. Of course, hundreds or thousands of people (even singles) getting a BG means SOME folks there this morning probably got locked out, but probably not as many as the previous glitch.

Plus there's another drop at 2 pm. If we all refrain from practicing at 2 pm. That should help matters as well.

See the screenshot a few posts back, it says on the screen "Remove Guests"
I did delete myself but wanted to make sure there wasn't something else I needed to do 🙂. I don't practice much, but have never had this happen before.

Thanks for clarifying that. I wonder what they're doing that causes the glitch :rolleyes2 And yes, hopefully people have good luck at the 2:00 drop. I'm not going to do my usual practice run at 2:00 just in case it glitches again and would really mess it up for the people there. Anxious to hear from people in the park this morning on their experience.

Hard to say what they might have done on the back end to allow this to happen. Second time, I believe, that it's happened since RotR opened in december. Last time, when guests told CM's about the glitch, the CM's basically tried calling them liars. felt bad for the ones that missed out that day. Just glad now they have the second opportunity.

Only one party for ride vehicle, so whether it's 1 person or 8 people, ride vehicle throughput is the same.

But each BG consists of a set number of guests, not a set number of "parties" (unless that changed). So, the new boarding procedures might mean a longer wait if there are lots of single riders in the park, each with their own ride vehicle.

But what I'm talking about is that the people who got a BG who aren't there all being singles means that there were still more spots within the BG that each of us got for more people who were in the park to still get that BG. When this happened before, the phantom parties were 3, 4, 5+ people. So more BG spots were taken up by people who would not be using them. This morning should be fewer spots going to waste.

ETA: I wonder if they've tweaked their algorithms to be able to calculate that each successful party equals one vehicle, even if that is just one person. And then it would only assign say 10 people to BG1 instead of 100 (or whatever the number is) before moving to assigning BG2.

I was thinking they would still assign 100 (or however many) people to BG1 and if BG1 takes longer to get through because they are all single riders, it just means they get through fewer total BGs that day. But that wouldn't affect the BG assignment process. Just the BG loading process. Does that makes sense?

So crazy enough, I am in TN and during practice today I got an actual boarding group? If anyone is there today and needs a boarding group for 1-person, message me it says boarding group 20. So, if it actually comes through I’ll gladly give it away!

So we were at HS yesterday it was HOT and BUSY but I got BG 109 at the 2pm drop. Rode for our second time, first was in January. (First time was incredible, second time was even better!) I use the Join, back, join, back, etc until the join lights up. We had my iPhone 11, sons iphone8 and hubby’s iPhone 8 Plus and I “won” (which I did in January too). We were hanging in the shop at the exit of the droid store on wifi and it was great. We got called about 6:05 while we were on MFSR so it was the perfect end to the day. This is a no spoilers post but as an FYI everything that we saw in January was the same, and I’m pretty sure we got the full experience. I also rode right behind Josh Di’Amaro (chairman of Disney parks)- super nice guy!!!

We are overlapping with our friend's trip. We plan to go to DHS on one of those days.

Our MDE's are linked, partially... What I mean is... My wife (H) has her own, I have my own, or son is managed by me. My wife and I have been linked for years and she can see our son on her F&F list. When it comes to our friend (A), she manages her MDE for her whole family (her, husband, and two kids). While H, A and I are linked and listed under each other's F&F, we can't see/add those family who are "managed by..." (so she can't see/link our son, and H &I can't see/link A's family).

Anyway... We don't need to ride Rise at the same time. Is it better to try for a boarding pass for one group of 8 people, or should we split into our families (two groups of 4). If I'm reading the thread right, if we are all scanned into DHS and look for a boarding pass, it will automatically select all of us (who are linked), and we'll need to unselect the other family members if we split 4/4?

Another question... As I look at this thread, it seems like arrival at the security check point and gate for 8:15ish seems to be a good idea to get into the park, and possibly even ride something before 10am park open and boarding pass check? Is that right?

Yeah I immediately removed myself from group after the error happened. I hope they can crank things out for those in park and those who missed out because of the glitch get into it via the 2pm.

Who I really feel for is all the GET cast members who will be responsible for handling this situation...

Yes people have been getting into the park earlier than the listed opening and have been getting on rides. According to most the best way to get in early and through security is to walk from the boardwalk resort area because parking doesn't usually open until 9 typically and by the time you park and get in it's closer to 10 and there's less of a chance of getting on a ride before listed opening.

Same can be said of using the Disney Transportation typically.

Everyday when I pull up MDE to practice (as well as other random times) I have to keep signing in. Is anyone else getting logged off and having to sign in continuously?

I have never had this problem in the past and it started recently about the time I start have many unsuccessful practice runs at BGs.

I’ll try removing myself!

Ok, I'm trying to relearn everything about getting a boarding pass since I feel like things have changed since I was planning our last trip.

Our next trip in November will just be me, my husband, and our 1 year old. I have other people on my friends and family list - do I need to delete them all? Also, how does it work with having a child under 3 on my account? Obviously he doesn't need a park ticket and won't be "scanned in" but will he show up somewhere on one of the screens and slow me down?

I would say the BG now is based per car rather than the number of guests since 1 party gets an entire car no matter how many in the party. So each of us that got a BG just took one car out from the number of cars available during the 10am BG grab.

Wow, that's frustrating. I don't have that issue, but I do have an issue where Wait Times aren't displayed on my iPhone - no filters selected or anything - I do see the Aerophile sometimes as a dash, but nothing else. Usually sometime toward the end of the day, the wait times show up. It's been like that for over a month now. My Android phone does show the wait times though, so I know it's not an actual issue, just sucks cause my iPhone is the better phone.

MDE now selects everyone that is scanned into the park that day, so F&F, as long as they're not at Hollywood Studios that day, will not be selected and your child, since not scanning in, will not be selected.

You just click the Join button on the main page, the join VQ page and then on the F&F page, so 3 joins right in a row as fast as you can and you should get in.
