Park just closed and still slowly clicked up BGs over that last 30 minutes - clicked over to BG 90 around 8pm.

I can’t say I’ve extensively studied last hour BG habits, but this seems just about the latest we’ve seen and still calling more groups.

I wonder if this has to do with the testing Yulilin was talking about and how it ran near flawlessly later at night. Maybe there really is something to time of day and they’re comfortable putting more through later in the night not needing the downtime in the evening as much.

The first time was a couple days ago, I think. But my info just comes from here I don’t watch it myself.

Huge thanks to everyone here! Ive been following for the past few weeks and I finally got a BG today! I couldn't have done it without ya'll. Here was my experience:

6:40AM: Arrived at Hollywood Studios. Lines were already past the ticket booths but I followed everyone's advice and lined up on the very right, next to the green construction walls. Great tip! Our line moved 4x faster than everyone else's when the turnstiles opened since we split into the 4 or so other lanes that opened up after the construction walls.

7:00AM: Turnstiles opened and I speedwalked to SDD

7:10AM: Arrived at SDD at 7:10. In hindsight I should have RAN! They lined everyone single file through the beginning of the queue all the way to the giant Woody statue. So the faster you get there the better your position. Unfortunately there's no opportunity to push through the crowd to get a better spot. Everyone who arrives after the queue was full was held behind a rope 10 wide and let into TSL at 8AM

8:00AM: At 7:59:30, I killed MDE and reopened it and then at exactly 8AM on my phone, I hit Find Out More and Join Boarding Group was red and got BG5!!!!! I couldn't believe it! I was shocked! I think what really helped was that I was on data. I did a speedtest on both and got 10Mbps download on WiFi and 80Mbps download on data (GoogleFi/Pixel 3 phone). That's 8x faster!!

8:15AM: From my position in line (right across from Toy Story Mania) I was boarding the ride in 15 minutes in a constantly moving line.

8:16AM: BG5 called and given 2 hours to return

8:30AM: HUGE TIP! like everyone else in this thread has said, get a boarding group as fast as possible even if not everyone in your party is selected or present on the selection screen. I made a friend in line while waiting for SDD and he wasn't being recognized as being in the park for some reason and could not join a boarding group even after refreshing and killing the app. I offered to go to GET with him after SDD and see what they could do and they gave him BG18! The reason he wasn't able to get added to BG5 was because they can't add someone to a BG that has already been called so make sure to go GET ASAP if you have problems! Note that this was a complete stranger, and we were not linked together in MDE or had the same family name or looked alike or anything, and all we did was explain that we were in the same party and they gave him the next available BG no questions asked. I'm sure this would be just as effective with your real family members or you could try doing this with a new friend/stranger and make their day!

9:01AM: Entered the line for RotR with my new friend

9:31AM: Got into the first preshow

9:57AM: Exited the ride. The line was continually moving and never stopped at any point except right when we got into the actual ride vehicles. We waited for a solid 3-5 min while the CMs tried to fix something before we were off!

Overall, amazing ride and definitely had some jaw dropping moments. I will be trying again tomorrow and Monday!

Have the 15 people going on this trip rename themselves in MDE so that their name starts with AA. This should place them at the top of the list, which will make it easier to select the correct people for a BG and anything else you plan together in MDE for this trip.
Brilliant !! Thank you!! I will do that for sure. Great idea.

I wonder if itd be worth it to head straight to a GET umbrella and briefly explain your situation - 45 f&f but only 10-15 riding that day and with BGs gone in a minute you don't think you'd have enough time to select each person individually to be able to get a group and that you wanted to ensure everyone that scanned in was in the same group together even if you all couldn't ride together.

The Chart is updated in Post #2.

- 86 total BGs were called - 51 Regular and 35 Backups (7.2 per hour average). This is up from 61 BGs on Thursday and 72 BGs on Friday.

- Two days in a row of both Regular and Backup BGs filling completely in around 60'ish seconds - an incredibly fast pace that is unprecedented based on past performance.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Double same! All the worrying and anxiety we've been feeling, and husbands will just log on, get a low BG and then be like "What's the big deal?" :sad2: :upsidedow
Oh yeah. This is absolutely happening to me. And he’s going to make it seem like no big deal. He will also probably not pay attention to my training lesson for him and DD and somehow be the one to score it. Again, he has no idea how much I think about this. Every. Day. That’s our little secret here, right?

Is there any way this will become less frantic in the future? Will the ride finally become more reliable, or will it be more like the Eastern version of Forbidden Eye? I feel bad for people who put in a great deal of time and money for their trip, just to be dumped into a 60-second race vs thousands of other guests where there's no second prize.

I have to think it will become more reliable over time. They have two of these in the States and know the international parks are getting a Galaxy's Edge (not positive which ride(s)) - so they will invest in "fixing it" and at some point it will switch to having FPs, etc. Question though is if that is in a few months or a few years

I think backups were gone by 8:01. I got a message today "The experience is currently closed to Guests not already in a boarding group".
Is this the new message a red pop up?

NM: I think it must have filled up as I was clicking through? The button is now greyed out for me like normal.

At 8:01:08 all gone. Not even backups. Got Boarding Status was going to be backups but then when I click “Join Boarding Group” got message that they were all gone.

Practice from home. Son got a real boarding pass, I got backup. Looked like backups were available until just after 8:02

Glitch city today for me. Would have only gotten backup group. I also got the red "the experience is currently closed to guests not already in a boarding group." I restarted whole ap and then got backup BG.

I would be very intrigued if they start experimenting with continuing to run it deeper into evenings, after park close or even into pmEMH. If it remains reliable later in the day, it might be helpful to do so. Then again, I wonder if that would give it enough "rest time" before the next morning. Also, I am beginning to wonder if there is interference be between the digital RFID components of the ride and those wifi/BT/data/pinging components in all the riders' phones and it might take a while for the system to adapt to that(?) I'm not a tech guy so I have no clue. Just a thought.

I’ve been reading this thread since it started.
First day at WDW today RotR Thank you so much for everyone’s help. We left POFQ at 6:50 on the bus, scanned through the park at 7:15.
Signed my nephews up to Jedi Training and hung around there to try and get a boarding group. One iPhone X on WiFi, one iPhone X on mobile data roaming from the UK and a Samsung Note 5 on WiFi. Both WiFis didn’t show guests in the park and the one on mobile data managed to snag BG51. Feel bad for the people next to us as they didn’t get one at all!
