Hey, crazy idea, but...do you have ADRs or FPs that were in the vicinity (an hour or two) of callback time? I have no idea if that could even be figured out with the callback system, but like I said, crazy idea... Enjoy!
No ADRs until 5:10. Our 3rd FP was LM 10:30-10:45. We hadn’t picked up a 4th yet when we were called.

I have a strategy question not mentioned in the FAQ: I'll be going with my wife and teenage son. All three of us have the MDE app on our phones (and we have all connected our parties together). Once DHS opens, should just ONE of us try to get into a boarding group on behalf of all three? Or is it smarter that all three of us try simultaneously? What advice do you have? thanks.

Everyone should try and you can all log into the same MDE account. First one through will get the BG and if the others get in it will tell them you can't join a BG because you are already in one

I think I asked this before but not sure I got answers. Does it really matter if everyone is on the same account? Couldn't everyone just try on their own as long as we're all on the friends and family list?

Next week is the first time I'll be trying to go with multiple people, so trying to figure out.

So your callback didn't overlap that FP at all, then?

See, now THAT would make some sense, a longer callback if the system sees an overlapping FP window.
Not that making sense is really a key factor here, amirite?

I wonder if they're giving 1 hour windows to the first several BGs to help reduce some of the lines at like Slinky Dog and other places? I mean the line has been extending past the land entrance at times.

A few weeks ago I had BG 33 which was called at 9:40, but I had a DAS return time for Millennium Falcon at around 9:55 or so. Because getting a return time for RotR would invalidate my MF:SR one, I went on the other ride first even though it conflicted with the window. It seems that the DAS system is similar to FP+, so I think that's proof they don't conflict.

EDIT: Whoops, I think I misinterpreted your question, as I was there when all the windows were still 2 hours. But afaik they don't affect each other.

I was talking specifically about the new, shorter callbacks seen today. As in, longer callbacks potentially being provided to people with potential conflicts. But as I said, crazy idea that I just threw out there. (Sounds like you had an amazing trip ;) )

Either should work fine as long as you are all connected in everyone's accounts.

More saying you "can" all be logged into one - you don't have to each create separate accounts to do those .... but if you already have separate accounts and are confident everyone is linked correctly then you definitely can use separate ones

Yup, sorry about that--I edited my post once I realized I misinterpreted what you were asking.

I think (and just me speculating) is they will vary this based one how quickly they want people to come back and how quickly they want the queue to fill. So first thing in the morning they want people coming right there to fill the empty queue and not wait while they rope drop other things. During the day, if there is steady filling of the queue then they can let people space out their returning a bit more. Then perhaps later in the day they will go back to one hour to avoid the crush of people with all BGs getting called prior to 2 hours of closing like in the past

I was called back around the time of my Oga’s reservation and about 75 minutes before my TSMM FP.

So it may be smart...?
Need more data points.

You should definitely all try. But my top suggestion is to put the best phone in the hands of the teenager. ;)

The 2hr return window changing to 1hr stinks by making it harder to plan, especially for guests currently at WDW who were thrown a curve ball. But I think it'll settle down once we see how guests still manage.

Park hopping works with higher BG#s if you leave when your BG nears. My guess is that beside WDW gaining better control of RoR flow, this change helps them deter guests from making FPs/ADRS in other parks on the same day they plan to get BG which is probably a common headache at GR. It's much easier for GR to manage FP and ADR conflicts that remain in HS. And it helps WDW maintain better predictions of how many guests they expect in each park.

Thank you @TheMaxRebo @dina444444 for this helpful information about using more than one smartphone to try to get a BG. I really hope we can get on the ride!
I had my husband's phone in one hand and mine in the other, both logged into my account. Once the screen loaded with the "join board group" button, I went with the phone that let me click first. His was a more recent phone, so his was the one that did it!
