Read my lips - No new VGF2 sales rumors

After the last two rumors fizzled out (October for 50th, Black Friday), I am sworn off of listening to, starting, or propagating any new sales dates rumors for VGF2. I myself am only going to entertain discussions of sales dates that come from an official source. I will disregard any new information regarding VGF2 sales having questionable origins, and I will not spread such information.

That being said, has anyone heard anything through the grapevine about VGF2 sales during the Christmas and New Year Holidays? It seems like it would be a good time to roll it out.

I’ll start a running list of what are reasonable sources of official information…

Official Grapevine:

• Bus Drivers
• Bill’s Blue Envelope
• The DIS
• Disney related FB pages
• Mickey Pretzel salesperson
• DVC website (questionable, but allowed)

On the small chance you are actually serious this time, I offer this:

Not official (and maybe not especially credible, either), but we stopped by a DVC desk in the Poly this morning, and the two there had no info. They offered that they did not expect sales to begin until next summer. This is similar to what we were told at the models at the Boardwalk this past October by a senior DVC guide.

Hmmm...well I don't know...DVC guides, sounds sketchy.

Have they ever driven a Disney transportation bus or talked to any drivers? That would give their info a little more gravitas.

I called Member Services the day before Thanksgiving. They confirmed there were no plans for a Black Friday sale other than small promotional offerings currently ongoing, especially since construction had not started. She then asked if I had talked to any bus drivers?

Why not talk about when we think sales will begin. My guess would be March or April of 2022. It could be later, since DVC isn’t going to want VGF2 sales to destroy RIV sales. I’m honestly surprised that they are doing VGF2 so early. I would have thought maybe 2023 if RIV sales were strong. It is all going to depend on the price of VGF2 also. They might keep it higher to sway people to RIV. There are a lot of variables in play.

NOTHING, absolutely nothing, has started at Big Pine Key. GF Hotel Guests are staying there and everything appears BAU inside the building (as of 11/29/21 when we visited the resort). I will be very surprised if the building is ready for occupancy before the end of 2022. If that's the case, sales aren't likely to begin anytime soon. My guess is late June at the earliest.

Thanks for the update. I plan to peruse by GF next week. I am also looking to see if ant reno has started. Looks like this is being delayed. It does appear the soft goods upgrade is happening in the main GF building, per MRSP posts over on the GF thread.

If that is correct then they must be behind since I believe they announced it would open in the summer? Of course Disney actually follows "summer" vs what most perceive as summer. June 21st-Sept 20th. So sales start June 21st for a Sept 20th opening.

But, does it mean it will open to just book for later dates? Or do they mean stays will begin then? I think you can interpret either way.

Since they haven't started, I can't imagine occupancy will be ready for spring. I took it to mean reservations could be made.

June 19th - booking for later opening. It'll still be spring technically. So lets say that sales start early May.
