I work in a hospital so there are Purell dispensers everywhere. I use it quite frequently though I prefer hand washing. We have a dispenser in our office and I use it on a daily basis. On Monday night after using it my hands were all tingly like when they fall "asleep". It was mostly in my finger tips and lasted about an hour. Tonight the same thing happened when I used it so I immediately went to the restroom to wash my hands and it stopped. I guess it must be some sort of reaction to the sanitizer. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar. I used it on Sunday night without any ill effect :confused3

My hands get that weird tingly feeling when they are overly dried out. So it's probably not a reaction to the sanitizer, but rather the alcohol drying your skin out because you use it so much.

Yes, essentially, when your hands are dried out and you use a hand sanitizer like Purell you're basically putting alcohol on an open wound. Not harmful, but not pleasant.
