I've spent about 3-4 hours on the phone 3 different times and Disney still can't seem to answer me about this issue.

Here it is, hopefully someone can help! I cannot be the first CM EVER to have this happen.

My spouse has worked for Disney for 6 years. He has a silver pass (salaried), so I've had a silver spouse pass this entire time with all the perks.

I just got a hired at Disney this year, and they sent me my own Blue Main Entrance Pass.

Does anyone know how I go about this? I want to keep my spouse pass for the discount and the unlimited admissions. I don't need the guest passes that come with my blue pass, I know you can't double dip. But my question which no one can seem to answer is, do I just miss out on every perk for being a CM then? Basically if I keep my spouse pass, I can never do self admission. Normally this wouldn't matter, but with self admission having WAY less blockout dates now, it does. Or can I never use my holiday coupons, food discounts, etc, since spouses are exempt from that?

Is there no way for me to have my spouse pass, but only use my main entrance pass for self admission and actual CM only perks? Not trying to game the system, but it really stinks if I will get ZERO benefits from being a CM other that what I already have through my husband.

Thank you if anyone has any idea or knows where I might actually get an answer. I've tried HR Global, Cast admissions, Guest Services, etc. I CANNOT be the only hourly CM married to a salaried CM in the entire company. SOMEBODY must know the answer!

Here is something on the Hub: All eligible employees of the Company are entitled to have only one active Main Entrance Pass (an individual Main Entrance Pass or a Spouse/Domestic Partner Pass) assigned to them at a time. An employee that has a spouse/domestic partner employed at the Company may not receive and use their Spouse/Domestic Partner’s Main Entrance Pass in addition to their own. However, if their spouse/domestic partner has a higher Main Entrance Pass benefit, an employee may choose to forgo their own pass and receive only a Spouse/Domestic Partner Main Entrance Pass.

Looks like you need to give up the MGP you received for yourself and continue to use your spouse MGP. As far as the holiday discount coupons, you should have no problem because they are given to the cast member (which you are now) and you should also be able to use your cast ID to get the food discounts (which you couldn’t do before with your spouse MGP). When shopping, make sure you use your spouse MGP for your higher discount. Hope this helps.

Okay, thanks. So that's what I was gathering but I wanted to make sure. I'm just out of luck on self admission! Such a bummer!

I think, that as an employee, you can still self admit. You just can’t take guests in using your MEP. Look at the back of the one they sent you and see if it tells you that you may admit 3 guests. I can’t believe that someone working in that department can’t help you.

I know! No one can. I've tried.

It does say may admit three guests. I have three guest passes. I understand I can't use those and my spouse pass, that part I totally get. I wish I knew how to get the answer. I've spent 3-4 hours on hold 4 times now and no one knows.

So basically what I want is to use my main entrance pass just for self admit and then use my spouse pass for everything else. This would be MUCH easier if they just let us use our Cast ID for self admission.

I was thinking, there should just be some way where they can check a box or something on a spouse pass to give it self admit privilege if the spouse becomes a CM, but keep everything else. That would be so easy and for some reason, it's not a thing!

When we got married they screwed up on our MEPs and somehow interlinked them so that whoever entered first was the CM the other the guest even though we both CMs and it Unknowingly blew through our admits till we figured it out.
We chose to keep ours separate as while he’s now silver the benefit of being able to get 6 people in at once (3 me, 3 him) outweighs the other benefits.

Id sit and really sketch out use to see which is more beneficial because while there is some perks to double CMs there are also negatives

I agree with you. I would keep both MGPs. The 2 drawbacks are that the newer cast member has to wait 3 years to get the 35% discount and can only take in 3 people 16 times a year. If the newer CM takes guests in all the time (and you use it more than 16 times a year) that could be a problem. If taking guests in is not a problem, keep both MGPs. The person with the higher discount can just use his ID. Three years go by fast. I usually wait until the Holiday discount starts before I buy things I want. But with that being said, you still should be able to self admit with your ID so that you can enter the parks when they are only available to CMs.

I buy a lot of merchandise and typically he's not with me so the discount for us definitely outweighs mine. Not to mention we go the parks a lot and he's usually working so the unlimited admissions outweighs my 16. I just really wish I could self admit.

Here and especially at Disneyland, typically it's me with friends or me with relatives or he can't make it on every trip to CA. So I'm typically always the one using the discount, sadly. So it does make a huge difference for us.

I agree about the last part, hopefully that can happen but I doubt it and I'm scared to add mine and see for instances exactly like what Disneyland Emily posted.

If it helps, at DL you self admit with just your ID. You only show your MEP if you have guests (they do not recognize guest passes there).

Yes, I love that they keep it old school there!! Not sure why they had to change it here. Maybe because of fingerprinting when the new "turnstiles" went in years ago?

Strangely, I was thinking they may NEED guest passes at DL, if they keep using park reservations (and if/when they let CMs in using their MEPs :magnify: ) Because otherwise, how can we get park reservations for our guests at DL? UGH.

I think we needed them for FP+ to get them in advance. DL doesn't do that.

And we might or it might change. As of now, for our trip in September, I have to use all paper tickets since we are all blocked out!
