Is the walking distance from the BWV to DHS and Epcot comparable to the distance from BLT to MK?

We've stayed at BLT and felt the walk was reasonable but concerned about the BWV walk for our 2 young children - especially our 5 year old! We definitely dont want him tired before we even arrive at the parks! Thanks!

To Epcot is a little shorter than BLT to MK entrance. To studios is a lot longer (closer to a mile).

A boat trick: you can usually exit from your room via a stareway close to the end of the boardwalk which has a bridge that goes over to the Swan/Dolphin and right at the other side of that short bridge is the S/D boat stop. The boat to and from studios is a direct trip from that stop.

I love the walk to Studios. It is peaceful. But if you have young kids I would only do it with a stroller. A 5 year old will get tired walking. It takes about 15 - 20 minutes depending on how fast you walk.

I would agree that the walkway from the Boardwalk to Epcot is a few minutes less compared to the Contemporary/Bay Lake Tower walkway to the Magic Kingdom. Also don't forget that if you were to take the Boat to Epcot they are the next stop once it leaves the Boardwalk, so that's something else to keep in mind.

As for the walkway to Hollywood Studios here is a tip that will save you a couple of minutes. If you walk past the Luna Park Pool it will take you directly to the Hollywood Studios walkway, so you don't have to walk all the way down the Boardwalk to it's start.

To put some numbers to it:
:teacher:
Walking along pathways from BLT Front Door to the MK Secuirty Checkpoint is around .50 miles.

Walking along pathways from BWV Breezeway (Outside 1st floor elevator lobby) to EPCOT Checkpoint is .40 miles.

Walking along pathways from the same BWV Breezeway to DHS Checkpoint is .65 miles. (Though it does seem a bit longer when walking it.)

Note that the walk from the "Breezeway" to BWV room 1001 next to JellyRolls is about .10 miles while the walk to room 1135 next to the tennis courts is about .15 miles. This also means the ducking out the exit next to 1135 leaves you with a BWV to DHS walk of .50 miles (Same as BLT to MK).

Thanks, Shamus. It is interesting that the walk to Studios is shorter than I thought!

We find the walk to Epcot to be easy. The walk back from Epcot with young kids was always longer and we generally took the boat. If you are there for Illuminations after a long day, watch from France and hightail it to the boat.

The Studios I will walk - and now that the kids are older, they will walk - but we always took the boat with them when they were younger. The boat does take a while so plan accordingly. Part of what makes the Studios walk seem longer is the walk next to the parking lot - in the heat its hot and not scenic.
