Re-using refillable mugs at Universal/IOA

when i used my ap for the discount, i received 20% off the bill.

i used it on the carts that accepted it, in the merch stores and in the resturants and some at city walk.

Have you had any luck getting 10% off on dining at the resorts? The website only lists 3 restaurants that give the discount but I would think if one did, they all would. Except maybe Tchomp Tchomp.

No, I think those are the only three that honor the discount. Haven't tried them all, but have tried to use the discount at Mama Della's & Jakes, and both said no.

Also, some of the gift shops at the hotels do not take the discount. For instance, at Portofino, only the actual Universal store down on the Piazza honors the discount. Since the hotels are actually Loews hotels, not all restaurants and stores accept the Universal discount.

we bought a Jimmy Neutron holographic cup (I think 32 oz) several years ago that gave the discounted refills (we used it for the 2 years of our AP). I believe it was only $5.95 at the time. Does anyone know if they are still allowed for the discounted refills? or are they only doing it on mugs rather than cups? dont want to drag my cup down if its no longer valid.

We were at the parks last week and found a special at Mel's. If you bought a large drink for $2.99 and paid with your Mastercard, you got a free, refillable, tall souvenir cup (with lid and matching straw) and got discounts on refills ($1.00 each refill) at the parks. We got four of them, one for each of us, and got a large empty bag from one of the shops and carried them around in the bag when they were empty. We rinsed them out in the room at night and took them back to the parks the next two days we were there. It was a great deal although they did not have a handle for easier carrying each day. (You are right, Macraven, the handle would be alot easier to transport).

i saw that promo on the cups when i was at universal at the beginning of the month.

i thought it was for the day only.

the refillable mug progam does not have an expiration date. they are valid on going , but the cup refillable program had an expiration time period. such as valid for the present day and not for future trips.

i might have miss read the sign as it was not something i was planning on doing as i already have my duelng dragon mug of 1999.

cups had a limited time period for the refills, the mugs do not.


if anyone has other info on this, please post.
i don't want to post anything that is incorrect.
but, thought the cup and mug program on refills were two separate issues.

The one that is Spongebob and Patrick (it originally had bubbles attached) and it was 1.49 to refill for the kids. Our Pilsner glasses were from 2003-04 as well, 5.50 for a refill. Universal/IOA is the best for honoring the refill prices on previous years' cups!! (did that make sense?)

With a preferred annual pass? Goodness, these discounts are confusing. I would think it should be 15% per the website or 20% per macraven's experience but 10% is a Citywalk discount, right? I guess I should just show my card everywhere and take whatever discount they give! Thanks for all the info.

Confusing, indeed. We're PAP holders, and the food/drink discounts seem to vary greatly. We just hand over the card and take what they give. Seems to be anywhere from 10 percent (Mythos, Bubba Gumps) to 20 percent (Finnegan's, Confisco's). I'm talking food here, not refills on mugs, tho.

I'm sooo happy for these discounts! We did the Bealls buy one year, get second free for $179. One pass paid for itself on the fifth day of our vacation (including the not paying for parking in the garage, as well as discounts on merchandise). Between our December and February trips, the second pass will pay for itself. Very, very good deal, and I commend USO for offering these perks to its passholders.

UO sometimes gives out bonus discounts. you usually get an extra 10% off Margaritaville in January, things like that. show your PAP in every store, restaurant, food stand.
