Re-thinking the Dining Plan questions

DH and I scheduled our trip for October through a TA back in February. We have gone back and forth waffling over weather we thought the Dining Plan was the right thing for us to do or not.

Due to some on going health issues I have I do best with smaller meals and rest periods between eating. Also since we will be there during F&W we know we will want to spend at least one day grazing through the booths.

While I do see us not wasting food on DDP I do worry that we would be doing a lot of eating to not waist money and not as much eating because we want to enjoy the food.

With free dining pretty much a guarantee no-go for our dates we are seriously considering dropping the plan.

Seeing as this is the first trip I am responsible for planning I was hoping to clear a few things up and get some advice from some fellow disers:

1. If we drop the plan now will that affect our ticket package as well? (Remember we booked back in February, way before the ticket price increase)

2. to drop the DDP all I should have to do would be to contact my TA and let her know right?

In your situation needing smaller portions I'd drop it.

You would just need to let your TA know and she can drop it off the res. Just do it before the 45 day marker but you're well ahead of that.

I've seen both scenarios of tickets not being changed and others where they've gotten the increased ticket cost. I don't think the increase is more than a few dollars though.

We went ahead and dropped it. It has been decided that after taking a firm second look at the Dining PLan calculator and factoring more for our true and current eating habits it was actually going to cost us $109 more to go with the dining plan.

Even if the ticket prices were raised we would still be saving money. Now to just look back over the dining reservations and make sure we want to keep them all.

The DDP swayed a few of our initial choices
