has anyone called member services lately for october 2005 reservations?
just wondering about availability. i've been working a string of nights and i'm just not awake enough to call when they are open!
luckily my string will be ending soon!

Last week we reserved 12 nights in the VWL for September 25 - October 7th.

I made reservations last week at VWL 10/17-19, waitlisted for 10/16 &10/20 in a 2 bdrm. I called member services today, to check for another vacation, and they said my waitlist had come through for 20th, I now only need one more day!

They did tell me they had 1 bdrm availability VWL for those same five nights. Good luck.

Just reserved 1 bdrm at BCV last week 10/19-10/23. No problem at all.

But...yes, two weekend nights were included! GULP! 142 points for 4 nights!!! OUCH!! Unfortunately only time we can go-- and I'm not switching hotels for 2 nights. Just glad to be going and glad we have banked points!

We recently switched our November trip to early October for a week at the BWV in a 2BR. They were out of Boardwalk and standard view rooms but had preferred view available.

What is the difference between a standard view and a perferred view? Is it worth the extra points?

We are going to BCV Oct 20-29 and have reserved the 21-29 at BCV and the 20th at SSR. We are on the waitlist for a dedicated 2bdr for the 20th. I hope we get it. We made most of the reservation, the 23-29th, at the 11 month window but due to the fact that we hAVE 2 homes we had to wait till the 7 month window for part. Thus the reason for the waitlist. I hope we get the last day so we don't have to move.

I called last week about Studios Oct 9-15th and only could get OKW or SSR for all nights. I could have done BWV or VWL for the 9th with cash, but not for BCV. So I made the ressies for a studio at SSR.

Called 3/17 (7 month window) for a studio at BWV (10/10-17). No standard studios. Not a surprise. I have a garden/pool view and I am waitlisted for a boardwalk view.

Did not check anywhere else, BW is my first resort choice for this trip. The Epcot resorts are popular in October due to Food and Wine.

Personally, I would say no. We had a preferred view that was a view of....the parking lot. Actually, I think it may have been the valet lot...maybe this is why it was "preferred"

If they have standard, take it. I did not feel that this room was worth the extra points.

This past Monday I cancelled a 13 night stay at BCV 1 bdrm for a 2 bdrm at OKW. The person at MS, Dale, was very helpful and told me that there "was plenty of openings" for this time period.

What is the difference between a standard view and a perferred view? Is it worth the extra points?

Besides the lower points, it is a difference in views. Preferred is generally a view of the canal or one of the pools. Most of the rooms are on the back side of the resort. Standard rooms for the most part are the ones overlooking the entrance driveway and parking lots. The preferred view that many consider worth the extra points is a Boardwalk view. That is a separate category of preferred rooms that you can reserve but is as hard to get as a standard room.

At the 7 month mark I made a ressie for Oct. 16 - 19 in a 1 bdrm at HH (our first trip there!!). Made it on the 21st cause of the weekend, asked about VWL he said they had some things open so I made the first two nights of our stay there then called back later in the week and got the rest of the days so we're going:
HH Oct. 16 - Oct 19
VWL Oct. 19 - Oct 24. One bedrooms at both places.

We have a reservation for BVC for 2 bedroom Sept. 30- Oct. 7. I tried to move it back further, but she said that the 10th and the 19th were completely sold out. Should I have asked for a dedicated two-bedroom? What is the difference?

We just booked a studio at OKW for Oct 16-26 on March 30th. The person at MS said that there was avaibility for mid to late October.
