Hoop de doo is 7 nights a week, so it is not the same cast every night, and I know of one actor from elsewhere in "the world" who fills in there for vacations and when someone is calls in sick. I know that I have seen at least one of the same cast members there this year, and I first saw her and remember her from 2000.
They have been the same characters since opening (the show has not changed very much at least since 1980 when I saw it for the first time). As far as the cast goes, as mentioned there is more than one CM that can play each role. We go every year at least once, sometimes twice and have seen many people come and go. I have seen the same Johnny Ringo and Flora Long for several years now but the others seem to change out often...Now if the question had been about the servers the answer is NO they don't change. most of the servers have been there since day one. I was talking to our server last time and asked how long she had been there and she said "Can you believe I have been here 22 years and I am third from the bottom in senority". I guess when you have something good going on you might as well keep with it.
I first saw the show in 1976. The show has not changed. For a few years, I saw the same cast members. When I went in 2001, it seemed that most of them had changed
There was another thread on Hoop-Dee-Doo where I ask the same thing. We go as often as we can and I watch for and try to guess which ones have changed over the years. They do an excellent job of casting the parts though, I sometimes have a real hard time telling the difference from show to show. This is one show where I hope it never changes. It is just good ole fun Disney style...smjj
since 2000 we have seen a few Dolly Drews and at least 2 or 3 of the pretty brunette character with the yellow dress as well as her male counter part with the dark hair. We have always caught the same "dippy blonde" female and partner - or at least casting is doing a great job and they are very similar. We have never caught the same Six-Bits Slocum twice though. We have seen various "six-bitses" thru the park in other places tough.(the singing pirates out side of POC - we believe) and once we spied the guy who was our server in 2000 at MK in the pirates show and then a few years later at MGM in one of the street shows. Funny Guy!!! He was a super server but has truely found his calling in the street performances.
The rest of the servers look very farmiliar though. i don't doubt that many of them have been around slinging strawberry short cake for quite some time.
on our last trip (we hoop dee doo at least once per trip) we sat right up front by the piano and banjo player. great guys. i think they are originals to the show also.
Two of my trips (back in the 90s) had the same Six Bits--he was SOOOOO good. My last HDDR show had a different Six Bits. He was good too, but I really liked the other one. Funny thing is, he reminded me a lot of my OB/GYN doctor, so every year when I got for my exam, I always think of Six Bits!
