For some reason or another I have never made it to the GMR at MGM. I'm leaving for the world tomorrow :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: and taking my father for his first trip. He's 77 years old and won't be doing any "thrill" rides. My thinking is the GMR is a rather calm experience taking you through film clips of old movies.

Any comments?

Also I want to take him to Millionaire because he still watches reruns every night. I can't remember how long the wait or how often the shows start.

Anyone know?

Not sure about millionaire, but the Great Movie Ride is pretty tame. The vehicle ride itself is gentle. There are some moments of excitement or loudness that frightened my children ages 2 and 5, but these were the scenes an adult would likely find most enjoyable.

GMR and Millionaire sound like perfect activities for your dad.
A lot of the movies depicted in the GMR are from years ago, so they will be familiar to him.

Warning! The Millionaire show can be addictive! I would like to spend a whole day there sometime, but trying to get anybody else to cooperate is a whole other story. I've been in the Hot Seat twice, so I'm always planning to go back to WIN! (not likely)

This week the show times for Millionaire are...
11:10 - Noon - 12:50 - 2:20 - 3:10 - 4 - 4:50 - 5:50
Arrive 25 minutes before showtime.

Have Fun! :sunny:

For Who Wants to be a Millionaire: Play It, the first show usually starts at about 10:30 and I think they run every 45 minutes or an hour after that. It will be on the schedule of attractions and shows that you can pick up when you enter the park. Enjoy!

Thanks for replies. I can barely work today I'm so happy to be heading back to the world for 5 days!!! :cool1:

This is my first "off site" stay, but I'm trying to convince myself having the extra space will make it OK. Besides I told my father and brother I will be riding to and from the World with a bag on my head. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

WWTBAM also has a lunch break, usually between 1 and 2 built into the schedule and the last show is about an hour or so before Fantasmic!

::yes::
Just agreeing with the other posters.
The ride car goes slow and is very tame.

I have to agree with the others too that the Millionaire Show is very addictive. When it's over, you feel like getting right in line and doing it again.
