? re: AP discount and same household

Hi everyone, my BF and I have been living in the same household for 2+ years. He has changed his address with the registry for his license, but they only give a sticker to place on the back. His license does not come up for renewal before our trip and it costs $40 to have a new one printed. To me, the sticker does not look like good enough proof of residence. I called MS, but they were unsure. Is it Ok to use the license along with maybe a bill or something else that shows our address is the same? I don't want to try to activate our AP's and have problems. If anyone else has had this situation, please let me know. Thanks.

If he is not an owner on the deed, I'm afraid the answer is no. It specifically says family members living in the same household. Here is the quote from the website.
"Disney Vacation Club Members and their immediate family (living in the same household) are eligible to receive discounts on new and renewed 2005 Walt Disney World® Annual and Premium Annual Passes."

If you are not married, he is not considered immediate family.

I don't know how to attach the quote, but farther down on the website it states that all adults need to show proof that they live in the same household. You do not need to prove whether you are a brother or a husband, only that you live in the same house. Just because we are not married yet, he should not be denied the AP discount. I am going to call MS again to try to find out more info.

Just an update, my BF is definitely eligible for the discount. Just called MS again and they said any Significant other living in the same household is eligible. The person I spoke with felt the sticker on the back of the license will be fine. I feel more proof will be needed though so I guess I am still looking for anyone else who has been in this situation. Thanks.

In that case, I guess I would use a bill etc that had his name and the address on together. I know they accept that for Florida residency when there are folks who are only seasonal residents.

"Immediate family" is defined by Walt Disney World Resort for discount purposes as noted below:
Spouse/Registered Domestic Partner
Parent/Step Parent
Mother-In-Law/Father-In-Law
Child/Step Child

Brother-In-Law/Sister-In-Law
Grandparent
Grandchild

No. This discount is exclusive for Members and may not be transferred. This perk may be revoked in the event of abuse.

Here is the info from the website. Given that Disney in general is consistently inconsistent, who know what will happen. As the rules are currently written, I don't think someone stated as a boy/girlfiend would be technically eligible even if at the same address. Obviously the rules are not totally sensible. Is a SIL who lives with you any more deserving than one who lives next door? For mine, likely less so after they'd been there a week or so. But the rules are set up as they are. I would be surprised if you were denied the perk but would not be surprised if you called and got a totally different answer.

Just remember that the criteria are a grid. You have to been on the list AND live at the same address.

If you and I run off together and move to South Minneapolis, we can register as "domestic partners" with the city. My company offers benefits to same sex couples, but they need to be registered as "domestic partners."

LOL, Crisi! Me too! I just didn't know there was such a thing as a registry. I guess I have lead a sheltered life!

Thanks for the replies. I really don't think ther is any way my BF will be denied the discount. After all, how would you prove the listed family members are actually related. There is no way disney would ask for proof that your sister in law is truly that relation to you, or that someone is your father in law, brother,or grandparent. I would not be able to prove that my sister is related to me. We don't have the same last name. I am pretty sure Disney only wants to be sure you are living in the same household, which we are. With all the people who post on this board, I'm surprised someone else is not in the same situation as me.
