Booked RPR for late June, surprised that AAA rate was "qualifying" toward Loews 1st percs.:thumbsup2

Still unsure of whether we need 3 or 4 nights. Reservationist said to just book for 3 & add on additional night later, if need be.

Said that if we booked for 4 nights & decided down the road to eliminate 1 night, the res. would cancel entirely & we'd have to re-book a 3 night stay, hoping that the availability/rate would still be open.:confused3

Is this a new policy or should I call back on Monday & talk to a Loews 1st agent?

you also have the option of booking for 4 nights and when you check in to the hotel, at that point you can drop night #4 without penalty. you have to give a 24 hour cancellation notice and would be withing the time frame at that point.

call and talk to a general manager if you are concerned.

if you stil can't make up your mind if you want a 3 or 4 night stay, go with my suggestion of cancelling the last night out when you check in.

last year they had a special of stay 4 nights with the 4th night being free on a special promo. if that happens again, you would have to modify the ressie.

good idea about calling hotel direct, will give it a shot.

our problem might be that the 1st day of stay is the one in question as opposed to the last day.

just seemed odd, have never had any problem modifying plans elsewhere, including WDW.

shouldn't be an issue of the date being available, since I'd be eliminating a night as opposed to adding additonal nights' stay.

forgot to add that I have dropped a last night stay at one of the universal hotels in the past. no penalty as i did it when i checked in.

for dropping the first night of your stay at UO, that might be a problem and jepardize the ressie.

why not make a separate ressie for the first night and a second ressie for the rest of the stay?
then you could cancel out the first night when you got closer to your date of stay there.

another goodie...didn't think of asking if they could link 2 ressies so we wouldn't have to change rooms...wonder if they'd comply.

will have to remember to ask when I call. off-hand, anyone know the direct dial to hotel?

rph: 407 503 3000

someone gave me this toll free number but i have NOT tried it.
don't even know if it is still valid but here it is: 888 332 5540

for a safe number, use the 407 one above

in case you want the general manager at rph, dale is leaving there.
don't know who will be taking over.

think we all will find out very soon though.

I did call & they did indeed confirm that altering a 4 day to a 3 prior to arrival (unless very early) would probably cancel the ressie.

The explanation was something about how they allocate rooms, into categories:

1 day ressies, most common

2 day, except for weekends, more available

3 day, less available

4 day, more easily attainable:confused3

More info that I care to know lol.

Anyway, they said linking 2 ressies is not guaranteed; only a request. Although I can't imagine they'd want to turn over the room if they didn't have to??

guess we'll stick with our 3 day & if the opportunity presents itself w/change to 4 days, if available.

I was told to keep an eye out for "specials" on the web-page. Must admit I didn't track rates for last week in June, just knew it was unavailable for our dates. Did they offer anything better than AAA during that time this year?

keisha, yes, check the website frequently.

they did have specials for the time of year you are going last year.

i;ll keep my eyes open in case i run across any

alrighty:goodvibes , surprised they offered anything for the summer.

I'm also going at the end of June with the AAA rate. I have 5 nights now, but just rented DVC points for the first night. I'm glad I read your post; I never would have thought I would need a new reservation to cancel one night. What website are you supposed to watch - Lowes or Universals?

very good, question...I dunno:teeth: , suppose I'll try to monitor them both.

if you find a goodie please post & I'll do the same:thumbsup2

what DVC resort did you rent points for? we'll be @ WLV 1st.

1st trip to HRH we had bought our tickets onlline before trip using a Fan discount. AP rates came out @ far less than my AAA rates. I booked the AP rate but went to the park gate to upgrade my tix. Still came out ahead on savings, nearly $100 as I recall. They had a discount on merchandise & some meals too, not sure if it's still offered.

I will!

We are staying one night at Saratoga Springs. It's the only way I could talk DH into 1 night at Disney - staying somewhere we haven't stayed yet. I want to spend the day at TL and last year resort guests got in an hour early every day so I just had to be onsite (or so the story goes...)

I bought our tickets; the $85 for 7 days deal. It will be interesting to see if AP rates would save us money after having to upgrade to an AP. We are staying at PBH, where are you staying?
