We're going to MK this coming Sunday, and I feel like maybe I'm overthinking things considering I'm going with two littles, but I always like to have a plan even if I know it will be obliterated!!

If we arrive in time for rope drop... we're through the turnstiles, but probably not at the front or anything... we should be able to meet Mickey first thing without much wait, right? I think ym girls would love to meet the man himself first thing, and looking at wait times lately, MM has been longer than even A&E!!

If we rd'd Mickey, then proceeded to PP, will lines be horrible already? We have FP+ for PP, but they're pushing naptime, so I'd love to go standby earlier and not have to worry. Plus DD3 is a HUGE PP fan, and I'm guessing she'd enjoy the queue.

Alternately... I have a BoG res for 8:15 (really wishing it was a lunch res!). I was hoping to be able to cancel it , as I'd prefer to start with Mickey first and I can't be sure the girls will be ready to go that early. IF we kept that res, I'd go straight to PP after breakfast (we have SDMT FP later and will meet A&E on our cruise). Would they then filter us through the FP line so we wouldn't get to see the queue? Or would they let us go through the standby line at a leisurely pace before others get there?

And if we do the BoG breakfast... what time would I need ot be in line for a bus from AoA to get there in time?

THANKS for reading through my million questions!

1. I'd say low-to-zero wait.
2. PP will be busy.
3. 7:15-7:30AM

If you have an early BOG reservation, you could go to PP first thing and then change your PP FP to a Mickey FP for later in the day. Seems like kind of a hike to leave BOG breakfast and walk all the way back to the entrance. Good luck!

Unless things have changed, or we got really unlucky, when we did Mickey at rope drop we had to wait. It was our longest wait of the whole day. They said he didn't start meeting until right at... 9 and we got in before 9, or 9:15 and we got in after?

Maybe it was just a fluke but it was very annoying. We were waiting like 20-30 min. This was last October

This is definitely the plan if we keep the BoG res. We'll only stop to see Mickey first thing if we do RD rather than BoG.

I guess if Mickey looks like it will be much of a wait, we'll move on and go to PP, or elsewhere. If we don't get to meet Mickey it won't be a huge disappointment, as we have a DCL cruise leaving the following day. We'll for sure catch all the characters then. I was just thinking that meeting Mickey-- talking Mickey, no less-- would be a great way to start off the whole trip!

We did Mickey at rope drop over Spring Break. We waited 5 minutes at most.

But if you have 8:15 at BOG, I'd agree with the previous post. Do PP at Rope drop, BOG 8:15, the make a FP for Mickey after that. We had a FP for Mickey on July 1 this summer, late morning, 5 minute wait, if that...

Thanks, all. It's looking like we will do BoG then PP unless the day before is just really rough on our kids (then we might not make BoG and will have to RD). My only reservation then is changing the FP from PP to MM... the only Mickey times currently available are late afternoon/evening. We were hoping to see how the kids were doing and play it by ear whether we went home for a nap then returned in the evening, or stayed through the early afternoon and just retired early for the day. If we do PP early, then try to change the FP and the times for Mickey are only in the evening, that sort of locks us into that plan... and the kids might not cooperate.

Oh well. We WILL see Mickey on the cruise. Just not talking Mickey. But we will still have a blast even if all we do at MK is sit on a bench and watch the hoards go by (which, with DD3, is highly likely!!!). Avoiding massive meltdowns is probably a better plan than pushing to see X Y and Z!!!
