RD route to 7DM

Last year, we apparently took the "Wrong" route to 7DM because even though we were at RP, so close to tunnel we were unable to see opening show, somehow 7DM wait was already 95 mins when we got there. I think we went through the castle, by carousel, not 100% sure. We were in a huge pack/crowd that I thought was all going to 7DM. Another day last yr, I tried taking the bridge by rose garden and was cut off by a CM who had that pathway closed, so of course by the time we turned around and go back to hub, I gave up and just BTMR instead (and vowed to get yalls input for next yr!)

What is the correct/best route to take to 7DM at RD? Through Tomorrowland via noodle stn short cut or all the way to hub but not through castle, but instead one of the bridges...?

Sure.

The only attractions open during AM EMH are those in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

Was it an EMH morning? That's the only reason I can think for the line to be that long so quickly after rope drop (though I could be totally wrong, we haven't been since SDMT opened).

We went at RD on 2 non-EMH mornings, one over Columbus Day weekend last year, and in mid-March of this year, and had the same experience as the OP. You are battling anyone who is in front of you, plus anyone already in the park from Crystal Palace, CRT, and BoG with early reservations. The whole "go at RD and you can ride with a short wait" thing doesn't seem to work for 7DMT most of the year.

That is the route I've posted on the map.

It is likely that you just happened to arrive at a time when they were working in that area and had not cleared it for guests
when you got there.
"Normally" it is the preferred route to 7DMT.

Also, heading through the castle first-thing would be a great path,
EXCEPT that this is the route that is taken by hundreds (if not thousands) of other guests
headed to meet A&E... so the castle tunnel can be fully CHOKED with guests at rope drop.

Robo to the rescue!

When we went last year, we were at the front of the rope on the left side tunnel. CM's had said we would be taken through the castle, but once we got to that point, they herded everyone to the right like on Robo's map and we wound up in the middle of the pack.

The whole "go at RD and you can ride with a short wait" thing doesn't seem to work for 7DMT most of the year.

It does work IF a Guests arrives BY 8:15 AM,immediately goes to the Right Tunnel and STAYS there until Magic Kingdom Welcome ends and then stays as close to the "Escort CMs" as possible all the way through Tomorrowland by Cosmic Ray's and on through Fantasyland past Tea Party to SDMT.

It is "challenging" to say the least!lol
