RCI wait list

wow reading this makes me glad we booked our Cancun with Interval before the switch.
they still honored the booking for this year but we didn't have any wait list to worry about.

IF you request the studio, that is likely what you will get. I personally would cancel the studio. Also, one can book directly with some of the CI resorts through BVTC.

:confused3 Can I call MS back and ask to book our resort through BVTC? I wish the CMs at MS would give you all your options when you call! :confused3

I don't blame you. Maybe calling and asking to book through BVTC will work for me. :wizard:

I am not where I can check to see if this resort on on the BVTC list. If it is, you likely can't book for 7 nights but can for 6 or 8. Of course you could list it now then book through BVTC later and cancel the RCI request later if it has not matched.

I called BVTC which is basically under the CI umbrella per the CM and they are not accepting any reservations or wait lists at this time- too many folks want in and not enough are booking out. On the RCI wait list I sit. :hyper: She said to keep calling back to see if CI/BVTC open up. :surfweb:

That doesn't make sense. Assuming you're calling DVC as a member, a member wanting to trade out would be helpful in this situation. I doubt there are more DVC members trying to trade out than CI members trading in but I guess there could be. Now if you were a CI member trying to trade in, this would make more sense.

That was my thinking but that's what she said. I am just about ready to cancel my wait list altogether. I am working on plans b, c, and d. Thanks so much for the insights! The DVC process is like learning a foreign language.

No reason to cancel unless you don't want to go or don't think the DVC points costs are worth it (they likely aren't).

It's not that this isn't the best use of points, because I know $$$ wise it's not, that's on my nerves. It's the headache of waiting :headache: for the wait list to come through and wanting so badly to use do something with these first set of points. :hyper: Silly, I know. :upsidedow

schedule a DVC time which you can cancel and use the points if you match. The WL is how RCI works so if you want to do any exchanges, you should get comfortable with the process.

Good idea. :thumbsup2 I will give myself plenty of time to make other reservations. The 11 month for the THV is this November so if the wait list does not pan out by then, we may be going to WDW again next year. I hope my wait list comes through though because as much as I love Disney, we do enjoy other destinations. Thanks again for all of the insights.

Glad to help. Let us know how things go.
