Will stop in walkways for characters

My future in-laws are RCI owners. My fiance and I are getting married at Disney next year on Labor Day. We've requested they stay onsite, since they don't know the area and I don't want them to miss the wedding.
They wanted me to find out about using their RCI week(s) for even just a weekend at Disney a Thurs or Fri-Mon or Tues.
Also can anyone recommend a dvc resort that has parking close to the buildings. They'll be driving and aren't in the best of health so walking long distances might be a problem. I know I wouldn't reccommend the Boardwalk (I've never been a fan even though I've stayed there twice, so I don't want to recommend it to them)
My fiance and I will be looking at renting points and staying at Beach Club. My fiance has requested that they stay somewhere else, but I don't really care. They're nice people.
