RCI help me decide

Trying to figure out next summer so where should be go knowing that we would have to trade out for it.
1) orlando--stay at dvc and do everything non disney (we need a change in venue)
2) Gatlinburg--RCI or rent a chalet
3) Destin--stay RCi our rent condo
4) New York CIty--RCI or rent hotel

We have never swapped so do not know if they pkaces are even worth swapping. Pros and Cons please.

Assuming you are talking about exchanging DVC points:

1---This can be a lot of fun. We just got back form a July week at Bonnet Creek where we didn't enter a Disney theme park even once. We went to the water parks, and DisneyQuest, ate at a few restaurants we've never had time for when we were always running to a park, and had a great time. No pressure to be anywhere, very relaxing.

2---It will be a much better deal to rent a cabin or a even timeshare unit from somone, renting out your points to cover the cost (and have some left over).

3---I don't know what condos go for on the coast. A couple of the RCI resorts in the panhandle are very nice, but it might be cheaper to rent.

4---The Manhattan Club might be a trade that has good value in RCI, even with the fees charged to exchangers.

Yes, we would be exchanging. I do not know how to figure out how many points it would cost to and what the type room we would get at the other place. We are a family of 6, so that would make things more difficult I would think.

For a NYC hotel, you should check out expedia or a comparable site first. I don't know about next summer, but there are some great promotions for this summer and there are so many options, it may cost less to pay for a hotel stay rather than exchange.

If you weren't able to trade in you might check out Redweek for renting from an owner. My family did that in 2004 and no problems and then my parents did the same thing in 2006 and no problems. I think it has a great location.

#1- Last trip did a split of Vero and Orlando. No Disney parks but did go to Universal (Don't tell but had a great time. IOA is a blast and excited for Hogwarts!Oh yeah like the price for multiple day tickets as well) We also just toured around the diffrent WDW resorts had drinks dinner etc. Tried to use "Member Perks" for things outside the parks and it worked out well.

I have to agree with others about renting out your points vs RCI exchange. I am still a bit irritated by the exchange fee and would like to see it go away or a least reduce the charge to a reasonable amount.

Personally none of those appeal to me using DVC points and all may be fairly difficult to get, esp this late. I'd say Club Intrawest Sandestin using the BVTC might be the best of the options presented. VB and HH using DVC points might be better options as well.
