Has anyone stayed here before? We are staying here with friends for a few nights before we go to Pop. Would like to know how close it is to Disney and info on the town of Celebration too.

if you are talking about Celebrations World Resort - it is not in Celebrations but in Kissimmee pass they Wyndham Palms Resort.

it is fairly close to WDW (back entry) AK.

I loved it!!!

Spicey got to stay in the villa....after he calmed down he had a great time too...

this is a small resort - so alot of the stuff is not up and going.

I have some pictures.

problems is they are on my computer - not an internet site.

I've stayed there twice. Once with the one bedroom and once with a two bedroom. In both cases it was two 'gal-pals' traveling together. The master bedroom (like many time shares) has a king size bed so one of us did sleep on the pull out in the living room the year we had the one bedroom. The jacuzi (sp?) tub is actually in the master bedroom, so that trip the person using the master had to vacate the area while the other was using it. Now the two of us sharing the two bedroom/two bath was like being in hog heaven! Will you be sharing a two bedroom?

The resort is pretty close to the 'back-way' into AK (Sherbeth Road) and you can quickly get to Oceola Parkway. My friend has always been the driver on past trips, but this last one I drove the area for the first time and had no problem getting around/finding my way.

Did you (or your friends) book this through RCI? If so be sure and have RCI's phone # with you. If you went to cinamin's link you'll see that time shares do try and pull the 'downsize' trick. Though I did not have ANY trouble at this resort, I had a case in the past where my two bedroom 'wasn't available' and was crammed into a one bedroom and told to get a points refund from RCI. As this was my first time share exchange I went along with it. When I got home and called RCI they were FURIOUS with the resort and said I should have called them right then when I was checking in.

Thanks everyone for the info.

ibouncetoo - We have requested a one-bedroom executive (whatever that means), we'll see. My husband and I get the bedroom the kids are on the pullout, they are always requesting camp outs on our sofa bed here at home, so it will be a novelty for them.

On their web site it lists quite a few activities, did anyone ever do any of these or use the recreation facilities, e.g. the swimming pool. Did you use the kitchen/grocery shop or eat out. What are the local amenities for eating outside the resort, but not in Disney? The second week will be our true Disney time.

Has anyone ever been to the town of Celebration?

Thanks again!

I've only used the pool/hot tub which were just fine. There were some kids activities going on one of the afternoons we had stopped back by to rest and change for dinner, but I don't know exactly what it was. There was definately more going on the second trip, as they were still mostly under construction on my first trip.

There are no dining options in walking distance, but it's a very short drive up to 192, which has gazillions of places to eat. I've only ever eaten the groceries we bought at Publix or at Disney, so can't give you any help there.

make sure you have a full kitchen.

if not - then I consider these to be studios - not really 1-bedroom - my opinion...

Celebration is cute-as-pie! I'm sure you will love it. It absolutely looks like the EPCOT that Walt Disney had in mind. There are gorgeous homes ( of which I was not lucky enough to be able to purchase), a golf course, and a sweet little town center area with shops, restaurants, fountains, I think a movie theater and they usually have seasonal fun and games for families. For instance, hay rides in the fall, snow falling on main street during winter, a pie bake off that I attended last year (and may enter this year)- just fun family things. I know the town has a website but, I cannot remember what it is now. Do a search for celebraton fl and it should come up. Have a wonderful time!!!! :sunny:

If you're in Celebration World resort you will need a car to get around. As has been said there are a large number of good restaurants close by on the 192. I particularly like Carrabba's which is a couple of miles west along the 192.

It's a pretty good location for getting to the I-4 if you're travelling to Tampa (BG) or to Universal, IOA or SW. Also if you visit Disney the back entrance that drops you by the AKL is a great shortcut.

We will have a car, not sure if we will dine in or out on our days with our friends.

Our second week will be in Disney, so we will eat on-site then.

Thanks for the Celebration review, I've always wondered about it, but we've been too busy the last few trips. I will have to find that web site.

There is a supermarket in a plaza a mile or so west of where Old Lake Wilson road (which is the road the resort is on) meets the 192. I think it's recently changed hands from Goodings and become a WinDixie. It used to be a bit more pricey than most of the local supermarkets, not sure about now. There is a large Publix about 5 miles west along the 192, just before it reaches I27. I usually shopped there if I was buying much more than a bottle of milk.

Eating out in the area you have a reasonable amount of choice close to you. As well as the Carrabba's already mentioned there is an Outback Steakhouse in the same plaza, a pretty good chinese (does take out/delivery as well) a Giordano's (pasta and pizza place, pretty good but not in the class of Carrabba's) , Key W Cools steakhouse had EXCELLENT steaks, but were a little pricey. There are a few pizza delivery/takeout places, Denny's, Ponderosa, dunkin donuts etc all in that immediate area. For a little more choice if you drive about 4-5 miles East on the 192 you'll find dozens more restaurants. TGIFriday, Olive Garden, Tony Roma's, a couple of Japanese steakhouses.

this is their website.

remember this is not in Celebration but Kissimmee - Celebration is about 10 miles east on US 192.

oh the ballons rides go over this place - so if you are up between 7:30 and 9:00 am look for them....
