Has anyone used this site before? Is it legit? Their rates are almost half off of the GWL website. Looking forward to any input. Thanks!

Yes it's legit. My neighbours used it last year (after I recommended it), and saved more than 50%. They were very happy.

Thanks very much. We just booked two rooms with them now. The GWL website shows $409.95 per room, while ratestogo.com had it for $199. No brainer there. Quick question though - was your credit card charged only the deposit amount upon booking and then was the balance directly payable to the hotel when checking in? Thanks!

Yes, this site is AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!
I too was nervous about booking ( we got a rate of $129 in mid June) and it seemed too good to be true.

We paid the rest of our balance at the resort with our credit card when we checked in.My girlfriend booked as well, and we were both upgraded to a loft suite when we arrived.

After I booked, I called the resort , just to make sure my rate was legit, and the CS rep said Rates to Go is wonderful, and they do get alot of buisness from them, so not to worry.

Just so you are aware as well, the rate on RATEs TO GO is for 6 people....
Great wolf lodge site is only for 4. If you need to add more to a room, they charge an extra $30 a person....So again another great savings bonus!:thumbsup2

Have a great time!

We have booked through Rates to Go several times and have never had an issues...have fun!

sounds like it is the same rates as the local rates. We are local and I call and ask for the local rate till I get a date that is 129. We go every January as we can get 129 on a weekend. Sometimes I will call and even wtih the local special it will be 299. I just can't justify that.

I will have to remember to try rates to go and compare.

We went last sept and used rates to go. It was great. We went the second week of school and there were more lifeguards than guests.:cool1:

I just called the hotel directly just to make sure I was in the system. I gave them the "booking ID" that is shown on my confirmation from Rates to go and she was clueless. She said this is not the confirmation # and she said I need to talk to the my contact at Ratestogo.

What did I do wrong?

Well if I could remember correctly, there should be a confirmation number on your invoice or receipt from ratestogo.com.

When I booked through them I just called GWL and gave them my last name and they foundme. I would call back - maybe you just got a newbie. :goodvibes

I called again and spoke to a different person. I said I booked through ratestogo and she said she can't give me any info regarding the reservation. She said that it's a policy they have with companies like ratestogo that they can't share info regarding the reservation. So I told her "so you're saying I can go to Great Wolf and potentially find out I don't have a reservation" and she said "you'd have to contact Ratestogo".

Oh well, we'll see soon enough. We check in on 9/5. That reservation better be there!!!

The way I see it is ratestogo books, say, 5 rooms right away. And then they give it away to people that buy it from their site. Then they put my name on the voucher as if they're relinquishing the ownership of that reservation to me. That's why I have to print out my hotel voucher (where as if I booked directly from the hotel, I just have to give them my name, not really need to present a printout of a voucher), sign it and hand it over to the reception desk.

Sigh. I hope I'm right. Well some DISers have already used them and reported no problems, so hopefully our ressie is uneventful as well.

I used them for a get away this past feb and all I had to do is bring in my reciept when I checked in. I would use them again. Get site. I did pay a booking fee but it was only 3 dollars and I save quite a bit, I would never pay rack rate!!

I love GWL. Enjoy your trip.:goodvibes

To anyone who has received a room upgrade at GWL: Please tell me how it happened.:)
We will be going in a few weekends for the first time and would love a complimentary/inexpensive upgrade. We booked through www.skoosh.com which only offered us the least expensive room type. The kids would flip if they could stay in one of the wolf den suites.

To the OP: I have a friend who has booked and stayed at GWL twice through rates to go with ZERO problems.:goodvibes
