I Cant wait!

I finally talked my sister and mom into going to Disney with me in January and I want to stay at the Beach Club Villas.

What I want to know is:

Has anyone gotten a discounted rate in January at the Villas?

What was the rate?

And is there anything special there that I need to know about.

Thank you! :-)

I don't know about any codes, but you might try renting points from a DVC member. Go to the DVC rent and trade board for more info.

We stayed at BCV last month and absolutely loved it. Have a good time.

I would seriously doubt that you would be able to obtain any discount codes for BCV in the forseeable future. It's still such a new property that I'd doubt Disney is going to reduce the room rates anytime soon. Plus, that is right in the busy season for DVC members to vacation.

Renting points from a DVC member might be the way to go here.

What about an annual passholder discount? Or do you think even with that they won't discount it?

I would doubt that you will see any kind of discount, but you can watch for it. I rented points for a 2 bedroom and it worked out great. I don't think I would have been able to get the rate I got even with a discount.

Look at it this way:

Rack rate for a BCV studio in January is $289/night. One week = $2,023. Even if you get a good discount, say 30% off, that still comes to $1,416 (plus tax) for a week. I'm not sure what the tax rate is - 11% maybe? So, total cost for a week, even with a discount is about $1,571.

It "costs" 104 points for a DVC member to reserve the same studio for a week in January. The going rate to rent points from a DVC member is about $10 per point. This would make your cost $1,040 (and NO tax) and your savings $531.

The disadvantages of renting from a DVC member is you are making a financial transaction with someone you don't know, and that can be scary. Also, that individual probably doesn't take credit cards.

Also, when staying on points, you do not receive daily maid service (some people consider this a plus).

We're going in November and are also renting points from the board. Actually, the weekend was cheaper to pay than to rent though so we are doing both. We were able to get the DC discount which helped out for the Fri/Sat.

I was a little leary about renting, but I'm just crossing my fingers that all goes well and I have faith in the person I rented from. So far, as far as I can tell, no one has had a bad experience renting from this board.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

We are renting pts for the beginning of Feb. for a BCV, 2 bdm. No discount will match the rate you will pay renting pts. Definitly the most cost effective Sun - Thurs. (At least for a 2 bdr. You have to cost it out to see if it is worth it for the time frame you want.) Renting pts Fri and Sat. are a different story, more expensive. Right now I have renting pts sun- thurs and have a cash ressie for Fri and Sat. There are NO discounts out at all for the BCV for Feb. I am anxiously awaiting the release of codes for this time frame. The discounts will determine if I keep my cash ressie for the Fri / Sat or if we resort hop! I can't believe I almost paid rack rate for my wk at the BCV. I am soo grateful to have found these boards!!!!

I might add, that the last couple of times I tried to call and ask about the recent codes for my weekend stays at BCV they told me there were some discounted rates, but only with a 3 night stay. My stay was the prior Saturday, and then Friday and Saturday of the following week, after renting the points Sun-Thu. It had to be consecutive nights. Boo-hiss.
Anyway, there are discounts out there so good luck!

Can someone please let me know how many points it is to rent a 2 room BVC Sunday thru Thursday. We have 5 people so I think a studio is too small. If need be I would stay at another site for
the weekend. I know that Friday and Saturday is much more money. Thank you for any additional information.:D :D

LuvDisney , these dates are approximate:

If you are going in January, September or first two weeks in December it is 30 pts/ night.

October, November (but not Thanksgiving), or third week in December (not Christmas) : 32 pts/night

First 2 weeks in February, May, first 10 days in June and last two weeks of August: 34 pts/night

Last 2 weeks in February, March, April 1-12, April 27 -30, June 11-30, July, first 2 weeks in August: 40 pts/night

April 13-26, Dec 24-31: 50 pts/night.

You are correct, for five people you will need a 2-bedroom, or 2 studios. Studios and 1-bedrooms only sleep 4 plus a child under age 3 in a crib.
