So far we love our DVC and it is allowing us to provide a great room for our kids and grandkids on DLR trips and build great memories. Still trying to add on at VGC and have been on the waiting list for 7 months. Hopefully can keep it well into retirement but even if we had to sell I would have no regrets about owning.

We bought in 1993 and have thoroughly enjoyed our purchase. We have added on several times adding BWV as a second home. Yes we could live without it but fortunately we don't have to at this time. Our kids have grown up with Disney, one daughter is heading to Disney to do a Professional Internship in January all because of DVC and the numerous wonderful vacations it has afforded us.

We love DVC. Glad we bought while the kids were young, but given the increase in point prices, wish I would've bought 5-10 years earlier! I do worry about the fees increasing too much. But these trips are such an important part of our family. It is our escape from the stresses of everyday life. In just 2.5 years we've been to WDW a handful of times (some taking friends/relatives, which we'd never have been able to do without DVC), a cruise and now heading to Hawaii and California this upcoming year. And just the planning and being on boards like this to talk about DVC/WDW is a stress reliever. So, I love it! I will be curious to see how we need to adapt as the kids grow older, but for now anyway, it is fantastic for us.

I'm a 7:)but def recommend DVC.

Our circumstances as to obtaining vacation weeks has tightened over past several years and now we're forced to 'guess' as to what weeks we'll be able to vacation to book at the 11 month window. :worried: Typically, it works out but, for F&W early October & to lesser degree the 1st week in December, it's been hit & miss.

I admit to being somewhat inflexible. There are certain resorts I don't care to book and not a fan of split stays within a WDW portion of a vacation since we typically move over to Universal for a split stay. When waitlists don't come through at our home resorts and nothing opens up at 7 month window, we've booked FDP offer/stay offsite. Increasingly, when our airfare is changeable booking thru SWA,we've made non-disney plans and either banked our points or gifted them to family.

I've wished they'd adjust the booking windows, a 7/5 month one would work in my favor, yet the increased competition for availability on day of the 6 month one would likely be stiff.:confused3

We probably would never have considered another timeshare, but we bought DVC sight unseen in 1993. We've used our points for more than 35 visits, and have come full circle now taking our small grandchildren. It might not be the best thing we every purchased, but we have used it and it comes close. Would do it again.

20 people voted for #9, what was the option?

I love my DVC and sharing it with friends and family, we've had some fantastic times over the years! The last couple of years were tough and I entertained having to sell it, and the thought of doing that was depressing but not the end of the world!

If the maintenance fees became ridiculous, I wouldn't keep it though, there has to be a balance. But I will say, perks come and go, changes happen but I still love it today, just as much as when I bought it in 2000!

Monday, we're at OKW, we spend every other Thanksgiving at WDW. OKW, SSR... doesn't matter, we enjoy them all!

I saw the options as a scale from [1 to 10] where 1 was "least" and 10 was "best." The wording attached to some points along the way really didn't matter.

Perhaps you're brighter than I am or maybe I just haven't had enough coffee this morning.... :rotfl2: :lmao: I think I needed the words " on a scale of 1-10" !

I too have a robot vacuum that I am enamored with but I think my DVC wins. We've only had it for 1 year so far and so far it's been great. My only problem is that even though we have already been 3 times this year for some reason I still want to go more, I really don't get it, once a year used to be more than enough. We call our robot vacuum Ramilda.

SOOO GLAD I AM NOT ALONE .. on loving to push a button and have a clean floor!!!! :thumbsup2

.. we call ours fefe.. and we use a silly accent while talking to it.. note there is a giant mickey mouse sticker on it too.. but so does a # of other things in our home. :rolleyes1

voted 'hate the 11- month window' however actually 'hate the 7-month window' MORE!

#10 we love our BWV!!!! Best purchase for vacation fun we ever did!!

Your scale a 9.
This is the second best item DW and I have purchased,#1 was our DDs pre-paid college.
We have taken and have plans in place to take vacations that we never would of been able too without DVC. We would never sale our DVC, our DD has offered to pay the yearly MFs for us, to be able to have access to our contracts.

We bought at OKW about 2.5 years ago. We love the resort, and we love staying onsite in a 2br villa instead of a hotel room. I really like the flexibility of DVC - we can book just a long weekend, or a week or longer - plus there is the possibility of staying at different DVC resorts. My husband and I plan to use our DVC points even after our kids are grown.

The one thing I didn't anticipate is how much "life with kids" would change in just a couple of years. School, sports and other activities for three kids in elementary and middle school keep us busier than I ever imagined, and I hear it only gets busier in high school. It is not as easy finding time for WDW trips as it used to be because of busy schedules, plus there a other things we want to do now that our kids are older. I also find myself considering more and more if we should cut back to every other year due to the cost of tickets and food at WDW.

I voted an "8"...still really like having our DVC points, but glad we bought at the low end of our ideal range of points. I used to think we'd definitely add on at some point, but now I'm not sure. If we do add on, I'm sure it will be resale again because I think the direct cost per point is getting ridiculous.

I love it and cant imagine traveling to Disney without the DVC. I am hooked and looking to add points.

I voted 9 because 10 was too over the top for me, it's not perfect, and I would sell it if it stopped working for us.

We cannot live without it!! We bought in 2004...go every year. We come home from our trips planning our next one!! Life is too stressful...we need our "Disney fix" to look forward to. Had we not purchased, we would never have all the wonderful family memories!!:goodvibes

We LOVE our DVC ... best decision we made. We just wish we had purchased when our boys were younger. We didn't get DVC until 2005 and they were in high school, but have been enjoying it so much!:goodvibes
