We just decided today to plan a wide trip over NYE. (Yes, I know, but we haven’t been in nearly 5 years and my husband just got the time off so despite crowds and lack of dining and all that, we’re going to make it happen).

I’ve been looking at room rates today and did 12/30-1/6 and then 12/30-1/1 and 1/1-1/6 with the general public code. Breaking up the reservation for the same resort makes it more money than doing the whole thing together. Is that right? I can’t figure out how or why that is possible, but since we haven’t been there in years I figure I must be missing something, but can’t figure out what it is?

Are you purchasing tickets with both stays? That would raise the price.

Call Disney and have a CM play with the dates and they can give you an informed opinion......they see more than you do on the screen.

I ran a reservation for AKL king room pool view to see what the prices were. It cost more to do the split stay then make one reservation, and this was for rack rate. It looks like they charged different rates for the same dates. For example, AKL Pool View king room rack rate on Sat, Jan 4th was $417 on the 12/1 to 1/6 reservation but it was $436 on the 1/1-1/6 reservation.

Hmm. Wonder why it works that way. I thought the price for that night was the price for that night.
