changed our plans a bit because now my mom is coming. she's not coming to the parks, so a bunch of her meals are separate from ours. we will have the basic DDP. tell me what you think!

arrival: ohana dinner all together
day one: chef mickey's brunch all together, flying fish for my mom for dinner
day two: liberty tree tavern lunch and crystal palace dinner for dbf and me, boma for my mom for dinner
day three: le cellier for lunch and chefs de france for dinner for dbf and me, narcoossee's for my mom for dinner
day four: up in the air because we plan on drinking in epcot the day before, so if dbf and i are not up to going to a park, we will probably head to DTD with my mom to have lunch and hang out. probably go to WPE and use a CS credit. dinner for my mom is cape may cafe clambake no matter what
day five: mama melrose fantasmic package for dbf and me, jiko dinner for my mom
departure :( : early dinner at rainforest cafe at either DTD or AK before getting on DME

thoughts? we will pay for a few meals OOP. for dbf and me, we are going to use our credits on ohana, chef mickey's, mama melrose F! package, crystal palace, chefs de france, and le cellier. for my mom, her credits will go to her ressies except jiko and flying fish. are these good choices?

You're gonna make your Mom eat alone :sad1:

:( yes, but she doesn't want us to take time from the parks since we are going for a short trip (we normally go for 2 weeks) and she doesn't want to come to the parks. she also has completely different tastes from us, hence lots of seafood options for her. i would rather she come to the parks and do everything with us, but she insisted on a no park, just do nothing, sit and relax trip.

Well okayyy, your picks are excellent btw. If I had the $ to pay OOP i would do a very similar list.

I am really confused. Why go to WDW and not visit the parks?

it's not really about the parks for her. instead of booking a totally separate trip, she just decided to tag along with us. plus orlando is super cheap compared to a lot of our favorite destinations, so she figured she'd come with us and then plan something else for spring break.

I see no problem with Mom eating alone; sounds like she is perfectly familiar with WDW. And how many times do we all recommend that (other) people stop and smell the roses instead of getting sucked into commando mode in the parks?

My only problem is your departure day. Are you all eating together so you need a non-park option? Because if you and DBF are going to AK that day you'd get a much better meal at Yak & Yeti TS. The menu is the same lunch/dinner since AK closes so early. Good food, nice atmosphere; ask to sit upstairs and it's generally very quiet/private.

If it needs to be a resort meal, again I'd go for a late lunch because I think most times of the year you don't need ADRs for lunch. If mom is going to be in DTD again, want to meet her at Turf Club? That's pretty close and they have a nice lunch. Or at Kona if you want something that's a little more 'WDW'ish.

we will eat together on our departure day. i love rainforest cafe, so we need to fit that in somewhere and this seemed like a good day. it's possible that we will all end up in DTD for a few hours since our flight home is at 9:45 pm.
