Rate issues: what if a CM misquotes you on the phone?

I'm hoping for some quick help. I've been trying to re-create our vacation from two years ago but it's coming up at 1K more this year! I've called disney several times , hoping to find a pin or better promotion but so far, nothing.

I decided to call today to just discuss less expensive alternatives, any advice or resort choice information. we had stayed at a 1 BR boardwalk villa and loved it. I have been debating on staying in a regular room at the comtemporary, thinking that at least the kids would love the proximity to MK. as I am on the phone discussing options, I asked about any other 1BR options that would be cheaper. I inquire about rates at Beach Club and CM states that a 1BR runs about the same as boardwalk. I didn't even know they had 1BR at beach club so , I just asked her to give me a quote. The CM looks it up and says it is the same rate as the boardwalk 1BR.

I didn't book anything and hung up but have been thinking about it and figured this will be the best I can do.....when I try to book the 1BR online, it's a lot more than the boardwalk.

so-do I have any recourse if the CM misquoted me? I wouldn't normally think twice about it but I read somewhere on here that someone actually had them play back the conversation and Disney honored the misquoted price.

Last Feb I was trying to book a room for a long weekend. I was quoted 667 at Saratoga or 987 at Boardwalk. I decided I was going to think about it and talk to my husband about whether we thought Boardwalk would be worth the extra money. We decided staying at Boardwalk since it was an adults only trip would be best because we would have access to nightlife, etc. When we called back to book Boardwalk the rate was quoted at over $1300. I told them the rate I was initially quoted to the penny (don't remember anymore) and how I also got the rate for Saratoga. I had reserved the room but had not put a deposit down yet. After a long conversation and lengthy hold time the CM came back and told me she "found some pixie dust for me" She gave me the Saratoga rate of 667 for the Boardwalk room!!!!!! Be nice and persistent and hopefully you will get some pixie dust too!!!!

I've always found the room rates at the BWV and BCV to be the same.

We were talking in terms of a 1 Bedroom, so I would assume that limits us to the Boardwalk Villa and the Beach Club Villas.

I just called back and tried. The CM said that verbals are hard to confirm. She played around with some things and offered me a "flex" offer....

yacht club, regular room with two queens and a day bed but club level and with concierge service.....I'm not sure what the "reg. price" is for such an offer, so I can't quite say if it's great. I booked it, just in case.....but I'm on the fence if I want the extra/free food over the bedroom, lol.

Hi there- just wanted to tell you that I had a similar problem last week and got what the CM wrongly told me in the long run. I called to ask about a pin, and was offered a 35% off room only rate. I was super excited about this, knew it was rare these days, and decided to take it. I didn't do the Disney math myself, just trusted the CM (wrong...I know....everyone makes mistakes.) But I DID ask him SEVERAL times "this is 35% off room, right?" and "I'm not going to get a better deal than this, right?" and he kept saying yes. Anyway, I got the confirmation email the next day and it was wrong. It was only 20% AND he got my dates wrong! Sheesh! Anyway, I called back to cancel the ressie since it wasn't that great of a deal. I very nicely explained the situation to a supervisor.....and they did give me the rate. Woo hoo! I was so excited, and pleased that they honored that!
