All of our things are booked for may 23 - 28th. Except for the hotel. If I book a room now and a rate code comes out for the month of May, can I call the reservation center and get the price difference? Or should I just wait till the code comes out.
I just don't want to wait and not get the hotel I am thinking. Is it that busy that I should worry about that.
We are thinking of staying at the POR or the Pop Century. :confused3

I always book my room at the price I'm willing to pay and then if a code comes out, I call and apply that code to my reservation.

At least this way I know I have a room and it's a bonus if a code comes out that I can use. Good luck!

Can someone tell me what a rate code is?

I just booked my first trip to Disney for the end of April / beginning of May - and I can't wait! You'd think I was 5 years old!

:welcome: to the DIS fellow Mass'er!!! From time to time, Disney puts out different 'codes' for discounts on various rooms. They can be 'specific' such as codes for those who have Annual Passes, or codes for those who are Florida residents. Then, there are codes for the public. As was mentioned earlier here, reserve at the price you are comfortable with, then if a discount code comes out, you can usually apply it to your reservation.
For instance, I am waiting for the AP rates to come out for May, at either POFQ or Pop. Since I hold an AP I will be able to book those rates.
Any other questions??? Feel free to ask away!!!

Thank you for the information......I'm sure I'll have a million more questions before our trip comes up!!

Goofy4tink,
Since it seems like you are also planning on going to the same resorts have you been to por? Which one do you feel is better for the family? Or is it just personal and cost preference?
Thanks to all for writing!

We love POR...it was my first WDW resort back when it was Dixie Landings. I've been several times. It would all depend on how many are in your family. If it's more than 4, then POR-AB would be the place for you. It has the two double beds as well as a trundle bed.
I find the room size difference isn't all that much. Yes, Pop rooms are a bit smaller but not enough to choose POR over it. The main pool at POR has a slide, Pop doesn't. There is a table service restuarant at POR, none at Pop. The one thing I really like about POR is that there are two sinks, and a privacy curtain in between the vanity area and the sleeping area. Gives a bit of privacy that you don't get at a value.
WE just decided to go with Pop in May. Any other questions...feel free to ask. I love talking about my favorite resorts!!!
