My DD (3) is obsessed with Rapunzel. This will be our first time trying to get her to meet with Blondie.
Now I know that she is at her new location right at left side of entrance inside MK, here are my questions

My plan is to meet her first thing in morning. We are staying at Contemp so we can get there in no time. We always make rope drop but I wanna know if park opens at 9am (is 8:30 plenty of time to get all the way to left side of gate to get in quick an be right in line?)

I've read that she meets at 9:30 is this correct?

And last, should we do it first thing or later?

1- Yes.

2- 9:00AM

3- Up to you.

She meets at #16 below-

Thanks Robo, your main street map was very helpful as I used it from an earlier thread I read to get planning ready

She is meeting at 9:00 am now. She was a big deal for my kids to meet so our plan for Monday 5/7/2012 revolved around her. We did an 8:05 breakfast at CP. Left the table at 8:55 and SPRINTED back to Rapunzel. As we walked out the door of CP they were already doing the countdown 5-4-3-2-1. By the time we got to her we were about 10 people back. I went for fp at Space and my dw and kids were done by 9:15.

Be there at rd on the left hand side and go straight there. Good Luck.

Also Photo quality is not going to be good. The sun is all wrong.

I'm in the same boat. My daughter loves Rapunzel and meeting her will be one of the big highlights of the trip.

My only reservation about seeing her first thing inthe morning is with the lighting I've heard others complain about. But risking going later in the day may be a lot longer wait and maybe even not seeing her. Am I putting too much emphasis on the bad lighting/photos?

Hope for a cloudy morning. ;)

And, if you can set your camera's flash to "ON", use it to help fill-in light.

Perish the thought! ;) And while fill flash is a great idea, on a sunny Florida morning, I don't think it will be enough to save this lighting mess. If there is a fully shaded corner in that area you can ask her to back up into, that's an option, but there might not be. We took some photos with the fairy godmother once in similar lighting and no amount of Lightroom edits could make them better.

I'm sort of a photo hound, so I'd take my chances going later in the day, knowing full well I will have to wait much longer. Years from now when the memories get fuzzy, the photos are what you'll have.

Fur such a photo-centric attraction, you'd think they'd put up some screens of something in the mornings.

This is bugging me too. I had plans for the rope drop power walk (pushing a stroller) to see her, but these photos with all of the shadows have me rethinking my plan. Someone mentioned lining up right after the afternoon parade as a good strategy. I might try that on our first day and see how it goes. If not, there’s always my original plan (rope drop on day 4).

to getting in line right away is that you get to see all the characters from the pre-show as they pass by the queue!

Do it LATER!!!!

The line is awful in the morning and the sun is disgusting. Instead, use that valuable morning time to get some key attractions done.

Wait until after the parade rush, head to line about 4:15-4:30 for her 5:00 set. The line will be more in the shade, the lighting will be better for the photo, and the wait is typically shorter (unless you happen to be one of the first 15 families at Rope Drop. Reports have indicated the line has snaked back to the fire house right at Rope Drop making the wait hit 60 minutes rather quickly).

We did it first thing, we were at rope drop, I got in line as fast as I could...and we waited about 20-30 minutes. I was about 5 feet from the train arch on the left side...and had my 13 year old park the stroller so I didn't have to take time for that.

Lighting was TERRIBLE.

We were leaving in the afternoon right before the parade started and there were 3 people in line. Saw that often as well...and much better lighting. LOL

So I'm gonna try rope drop first but if that does not work then I will do afternoon. So if parade is at 3pm you say go to line around 4:15pm (we will probably not watch parade this day)
