Does anyone know if there's an "end date" for Raptor Encounter? We're going in January (first time!) and I am so in love with the videos I've seen and I really want to be able to experience this.

I have no idea, but it seemed like a pretty permanent offering to me. It was pretty cool....the raptor seemed very real.

Find out the starting time from a TM and get in line before it opens if you want to get it done without too much of a wait.

We did this in July and it was fun! The raptor handler was REALLY in character, and our kids loved it. We're big Jurassic Park series fans, so it was right up our alley.

I hope it sticks around for you to experience.

Have a great vacation!! January is really just right around the corner, and will be here before you know it :dogdance::dogdance:

Thanks! This trip basically came together THIS WEEK, so I'm doing research like crazy. (We were supposed to do a big Disney/Universal trip next fall but the money is needed elsewhere, so for half the price we're doing just Universal, but so much sooner!)

The rapter encounters go in shifts with breaks between showings. Each group gets about a min or 2 up close then photos taken by Universal and they will also take photos with your camera. Maybe about 20 groups get in each showing then a break.

We just did this! I am a HUGE Jurassic Park fan. The actors are great. I was laughing so hard and our cell phone photos are really funny! I also took a short video of the raptor stalking some other guests! The trainer yells..."NO STALKING"!!!! I had on a bright pink top and the trainer tells me that "She really likes pink"

Does she have a name? I tried to figure out online if she has a name. (I'm a ridiculous Raptor fan, so you can imagine I LOVED Jurassic World!)

The one we had was named Kelo! I have a video of the "trainer" yelling at her! I don't think there was a Kelo in the movie. I was so excited. I got chills just walking through the JP gate!

They told us the Islands of Adventure rapters are named Lucy and Ethel. Yes, two different ones who go in shifts.
