I don't know if anyone posted this already, but a bus driver we had on our last trip told us that the Disney bus fleet travels 10,000 miles a day. At $3.00a galloon for diesel fuel, gas cost are $30,000 a day! WOW!

This is a great thread! Keep the interesting tidbits coming!
While not really Disney-related, here is something interesting I learned on my last trip to AK:
The komodo dragon's saliva contains a bacteria that is fatal to anything it bites. If the victim does not die from the bite, it will die of septicemia caused by the bite. However, the komodo dragon itself is immune to this bacteria.
Scientists are working with this bacteria to try to find a cure for AIDs and much of the research is being done in conjunction with Disney and the Animal Kingdom.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Universe of Energy, but it is sure long enough to take a great nap when you are worn out from days at Disney World and the hot Florida sun!
Hahah I would kill to get my hands on that test! My FH actually WANTS to work Splash more than anything! He told me that if we won the lottery, that's what he'd do with the rest of his life
I have a map of the tunnels. Were looking for a case to display it in our Disney kitchen. I knocked a few bucks off a plumbing job of a former CM for it. I was told it is never supposed to be seen by the general public.
My mom and sister once worked for Disney, and they learned a bunch of the disney secrets but never really told me any. but i know a few!
*Main Street at disney world, the buildings gradually get smaller going toward the castle to make it look bigger.
*Disney is build something like 24 feet about ground for the underground tunnels for the "castmembers" to get around with.
*Splash Mt. the water is projected buut it depends on the weather of how much water is projected! ha! enjoy!
There is a ton of stupid facts they teach all new employees at Disney University. Most of which I do not remember any longer. It has been 10 years though since I worked for them.
I will think of more later......I know lots of these. I am the worst kind of Disney addict I think. I used to (as you all do) research and plan all my trips etc. We became DVC members...that wasn't enough....we finally moved here 5 years ago and now I have my fun PT job with them so I can get my Disney fix whenever I want! I can hear the fireworks every night (from 8 mile distance) JOY! [/QUOTE]
YOU ARE MY IDOL!!! I planned, I bought, now I want to move!
