Heading to Disney next week and was wondering if you have any prefrences as to what bars to hit up OR have a great bartender you visit?

I've hit up a lot of places, but had the best service and company at one of the bars at the All Star Movies resort. The conversaion was great including sports, weather, and job stuff.....not to mention quality drinks.

Any one else experience this at Disney? Who? Where at? And what time?

I'll give feed back post trip.

Bob the piano player at Dixie Landings - great fun, large screen tv to watch any games, and large seating area.
Gurgling Suitcase at OKW - think Key West at Disney very laid back.
Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk at BWV - dueling pianos, can be lots of fun depending on if the crowd is into it.

Old Key West = Gurgling Suitcase :thumbsup2

Polynesian = Tambu Lounge (Grey haired bartender/gentleman Super Nice)
also Kona Island Sushi bar = love them

Port Orleans Riverside bar just outside of Boatwrights = awesome

Walt Disney Dolphin Resort = Todd English's Bluezoo, OMG yummy food

inside the parks

Rose & Crown Pub - E.P.C.O.T.
La Cava del Tequila -E.P.C.O.T.

Dawa Bar adjacent to Tusker House - Animal Kingdom

I have a handy dandy list in our trip report linked in the siggie...but off the top of my head:

Definitely La Cava del Tequila...no special bartender per se, just some of the best drinks in EPCOT

The Cabana Bar at the Dolphin pool area (no key or anything needed to visit the bar) is exceptional. Friendliest and very knowledgeable bartenders each time we were there. They have awesome cabana style seating, as well as regular tables if you don't want to hang at the bar.

The Dawa Bar in Animal Kingdom is perfect for some great drinks mixed by Bob (I can't ever remember a time when he wasn't bartending there)..and some entertainment courtesy of the African Percussion group.

Bluezoo is awesome. The bartenders are true mixologists and they have some unique and tasty choices on their bar menu. Great vibe for chilling out and sliding down some Oysters with your drinks.

The Bellevue Lounge was cool too (located in BW)..nice drinks but really cool atmosphere..tables with board games and a very nice deck complete with rocking chairs overlooking part of the Boardwalk.

Have a blast!!

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I'll definatly be hittig upa few of these! I usually slam a coupld Bumblee Bee's at the Rose and hit up Germany for follow up brews. Maybe this time I'll start at Mexico then move on. :)

Be careful with starting in Mexico. the Drinks are VERY Tasty... and VERY strong. It can be dangerous. ;)

Honestly, the only bar I've ever actually spent serious time at on Disney property is the Tune Inn Lounge at MGM. (helps that one of my local friends from here on the DIS knows the bartenders...). The Bartenders are cool, the building is Air Conditioned, and if you start to realize you need something to eat, you have the full Prime Time menu available to order from.

Tammy, at Mizners (in the Grand). Generally works weekends. You can thank me when you get back. ;)

We had a great bartender at Paradiso 37 (whose name escapes me right now...pretty sure it was Jeff) that remembered what drinks we ordered the 2nd time we came in. He also made me a delicious skinny margarita that wasn't on the menu! Food is very good there as well.

Welp, got back a week or two ago. I didn't get to do much bar hoppng. Instead we did more pictures and character based stuff. SO, needless to say there wasn't a whole lot of driking. I did get to try a a drink or two in Mexico and was not impressed. I was expecting a much stronger punch from a Petron based drink. It was good, but not as tasty as a drink I could buy here in MA.

I also feel as though the whole Epcot feel was tossed out the window while the food and wine festival was going on. Service was much quicker which was nice, but definatly not the same feel there. I felt rushed along from contury to country, which meant less time to relax and try more drinks. :(

It was definatly nice to drink less and take more pics with the baby, but I expected to get better drinks and less chaos overall.

Im 27 and was wondering where the best place is for someone around my age to meet others about the same age. I might even think about planning a solo trip if I can come up with ideas..I was 20 the last time I was down and didn't get to experience Pleasure Island or any place that offered a good drink. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the high five DC. Tune Inn is my fave bar on property. I love the bartenders there and its fun, lighthearted and funny to enjoy a cocktail there. Also, the full menu at 50's Prime Time is available for purchase. I also enjoy Big River Grille for daytime cocktails and Atlantic Dance Hall for fun and frolic after hours.

Hmmm, this trip, I think I'm gonna have to drink around the world as well as try to find Tune Inn. Sounds like a great place. When drinking around the world, where's the best place to start? 6 more days till I fly down there. :cool1:

It really depends on what kind of drinker you are... and your tolerances. Are you a beer drinker? Liquor drinker? Wine Drinker? Combination?

The "dangerous" spots around the world showcase are primarily Mexico (TEQUILA!! Margaritas! Yum!), and the UK (Rose and Crown). The rest of the world isn't that bad since the mixed drinks or straight shots tend to be a little more well behaved. (Except maybe Germany if you prefer a Jager or Rumplemintz shot.)
