random questions about little ones in the parks

We're taking the boys for the first time next month and they'll have just turned two. I've got two completely random questions that I've been wondering about...

1. Should I have an autograph book for them? They won't be getting them themselves, and really won't have any idea about the autographs, or anything, so would it just be silly and kind of pointless? I've never done autograph books myself, so I'm not entirely sure.

2. A few months after they were born, SIL went to WDW and got them the baby blue "my first ear hats" with their names on them. They love to wear them around now and play with them. DH thinks it's silly to get another pair when they have those. I'd like to have some pics of them w/ ear hats, but I keep thinking the baby blue ears are just too "baby-ish" for them now. Am I being goofy? And honestly, I don't want them to be wearing them too much in the park just b/c there's no sun protection. I am planning on getting them those cute little Disney bucket hats. (That is, if they still have them!!)

Ok, I think that's it!! THanks for humoring my silly little questions!! :)

1. I would skip it! They will do plenty of collecting of autographs when they are older. Why wait in those lines for something they can't really appreciate this young.

2. I think the ears sound cute, you could always wear them for some photos then leave them in the room and get them protective hats.

Okay, for you first question. Honestly, I wouldn't get autograph books if they're only 2. I personally really don't like the whole autograph book thing, but got one for my DS (6 at time) last year, because he wanted to do it. He really enjoyed doing it, but it really was a pain to dig out all the time, and now he never even looks at it. We'll see if he wants to do it this year or not, but if I were you, I'd wait until they were older and wanted to, because to me it's just not worth it. As far as the Mickey ears, to me it really doesn't matter. My son has 3 or 4 pairs of ears, and my DD has gotten a new pair every time she's gone as well, but I think I'm just going to take a pair they already have for this year. I'm starting to wonder what the point is to have so many and I guess I'm thinking we have enough, at least for a while:laughing:

I wouldn't do an autograph book, they won't know what it is until they're older and might not even be "into" it. It's also more "stuff" you'll have to fumble around with, without the book you can just have the kids stand with the characters (or hold them next to the character), snap a photo and be on your way.

I would definitely buy them new ears! We get new ears for everyone on every trip even though we all have some already. My DD has a pair that she might wear on the plane but I'll still be buying her a new set at the MK, it's a tradition.

I have a bit of a different take on the autograph books. I took my two year old for the our first family trip this past Dec. I loved the book for her she looks at it and knows all the signatures. I cut them out and used them in the photo album with her character photos it looks great. In saying all that we only did character dinning signatures it was convinet and easy.

As for the ears I would do both take the old ones and then if you find new ones you like too buy them.

We've gone twice with a baby, an 11 mo old and 12 mo old, I didn't get them an autograph book. Neither cared then and neither care now. Only my older children have them because they care more at the time. My nephew was 2 on our last trip and he had a book, but I don't know that it really mattered to him. He just went up with his big sister and she handed them a book, so he did, too.

As for ears, we've been twice, and I bought them each ears on each trip, except the oldest who wanted a visor instead. I think they are great souvies.

Have a fun trip
