We purchased our first apartment for $205,000 in 2000 and sold it for $255,000 in 2003.
Our current apartment bought for $325,000 and Zillow has it listed for $875,000.

Zillow values it at $202,000 now.

Really it hasn't even doubled in 26 years? That is pretty shocking.

Located in Columbus Georgia. A town with a huge military retired population. Cost of living is low and growth is SLOW.

My current home in Gwinnett County Georgia, a county that was the fastest growing in the US for many years in the 80’s and 90’s was purchased for $380,000 in 2005. Dropped to $200,000 during the 2009 housing collapse and has just recently seen a move into positive gain at $550,000.

My first house was a 3/1.5 townhouse that I paid around $90K in 2001 for and ended up selling it 3 years later for $126K.
