Why would the LAPD be in Orange County?

Why would the LAPD be in Orange County?
The Anaheim PD has a station on property. I do not feel very secure knowing that someone is using hyperbole and flat out lies to justify bringing a weapon onto Disney property. In my opinion someone who would blame the LAPD for taking an hour to investigate something outside of their jurisdiction when there are already police on site would not exercise good judgement when it comes to discharging a weapon in public. I'll be happy when every guest goes through the metal detector instead of just random selections.Red Herring
You claimed earlier that you know people who take guns to Disney. Again, you stated that the LAPD will take an hour to arrive at Disneyland. The LAPD has zero jurisdiction at Disneyland, so that should not be a reason to support concealed carry on Disney property. It was a flat out lie to prove your point. And again, I don't trust your judgement to determine that someone is brandishing a weapon and that you should take them down. I'd rather take my chances that is someone were to brandish a weapon at Disney that I could stay out of the way until their security and the on site police can respond. This is based both on your hyperbolic posts here and your downright offensive posts on another board for which you were recently called out. You're clearly missing the point. Once someone has been shot, it doesn't matter when the PD shows up. 5 minutes later. 60 minutes later. Once the lunatic brandishes his weapon, I'm hoping someone close by (a good guy with a concealed) can take him/her down. Fast. The victims can't afford to wait for a 911 call, then have the operator inform local law enforcement, then have them show up. By the time that all happens, we're waiting for CSI to show up.
No one here has claimed to bring a gun into Disney. No one here is using flat out lies. No one is exaggerating. It's a simple truth: law abiding citizens who carry make me feel safer. Make A LOT of people feel safer. You don't have to like this fact, but you could show some tolerance toward these people. Especially since they're the ones who'll be saving your tail when the crazies show up. End of line.
I've never carried at Disney, but I've always felt safer because I know people who have. But that's just my perspective on things.

Yes, bag check is taking longer right now. It is a busy time, there are more guests, it's cold, and it's been raining, and guests have more stuff, and more bags too. When you arrive will also impact how long the bag check takes. In addition, Disney has said that they are now going to inspect layers of clothing. If you wear a jacket, unzip it. The metal detectors are off to the side once you pass the bag check. Other than being selected to walk through the metal detector, if it impedes your entry to the park in anyway, you walked the wrong way. The bag check and the metal detectors are separate. So far I haven't seen or heard of any lines at the bag check that are worse than any other capacity crowd day, which the parks have been for the past few days.
Disney will typically send out tweets regarding capacity. Is there somewhere online to check updates on park capacity?
No. The first, and only time that I was aware of them doing that was the 24 hour day this year. And they didn't do it until several hours after DL hard closed. But they did send a tweet yesterday saying that the parks were crowded, which is highly, highly unusual. I was only at DTD yesterday, but it was pretty packed there, so in a way I wasn't surprised, but it did make me wonder if the week after Christmas crowds are now spreading into the week before. Yesterday was also the first day of break for many schools, so I'm sure that added to the crowds.Disney will typically send out tweets regarding capacity.
As a strong 2nd Amendment supporter, I have no problem with Disney doing this. It will not keep me out of the parks. I have never felt the need to be armed in any theme park, especially Disney.
Their business, their rules.
This will likely slow me down. ScottEVest travel vests easily hold more "stuff" than a typical purse, yet I have always walked through the bag check. Although not heavily advertised, the QUEST vest has long vertical exterior pockets designed for concealed carry (I don't)....Disney has said that they are now going to inspect layers of clothing. Were you never checked before? I've been asked to unzip my jacket or lift up my sweatshirt before, but it wasn't consistent. Now they're saying they're going to be consistent, though that remains to be seen. I've already seen a CM forget, then call the person back over. In the grand scheme of things it's a few seconds. If those few seconds are an issue for people, they can maybe try something like putting their jacket or vest in a plastic bag and putting the items in their pockets after they've passed security. This is sort of like adding picture taking to tickets. Most of the time it's a second or 2 extra. Sometimes something happens and it takes a little longer. Overall, the experience of going through the turnstile and the amount of time has stayed almost the same for the majority of guests. For the few who have experienced occasional additional delays, that's unfortunate, but not a reason to go back to the way it was. This will likely slow me down. I've been wearing various versions of ScottEVests for several years, and never been checked. These vests are designed to carry many items and distribute the weight, so it does not appear to be overloaded (although it is often quite heavy). It will be interesting to see how these type of garments are handled, they have dozens of pockets. I'll be at WDW next month, so that will be the my first experience with "enhanced" security. Were you never checked before?...
I also use ScottEVests and bought one of their jackets for January for carrying ease. I too wonder what will happen at security. I certainly will take it off for them but I load it purposefully. Emptying it out might be amusing to watch.I've been wearing various versions of ScottEVests for several years, and never been checked.
