We got off to an early start for the swim meet
I hit snooze four times
and rolled out of bed at 7:10 to leave at 7:30
which included getting dressed and toasting bagles for the DD's.

It was a three team meet today
which usually means really, really, long
but it wasn't too bad today
since part of our team was at another meet
some of the swimmer swim on two teams


DD10 didn't get any first place ribbons today
she did so well last meet she was moved up to swim in a different group...
and she wasn't as fast as the fastest girls in this new group...
you really try to beat your individual times in swimming
but it is always a thrill to be first....

DD12 finished first once
and DS did too

which was salt in DD10's wounds
but she rallied and managed not to sulk too much

Well at least she got moved up.

DH's parents came to the meet today
they live about an hour away
and this is the first time they managed to make it to a meet this season
(they made a varsity meet for DS earlier)

they brought DD12's birthday present
and we got to deliver their girl scout cookie purchases

Yeah early birthday present.

We took some friendship bread to the meet
the baked one
not the starters

and DD10 was delighted and even managed to share a bit
(since she knew there was more at home)

IT was the last meet
and the little kids pushed one coach into the pool at the end
he was a good sport about it

the other male coach
no way
he got angry when they tried to tug him toward the pool

Now you make me envious of you making that bread.

DH leaves tomorrow
and DD12 turns DD13 on Monday
so after we came home and showered up and changed
we went out for her birthday

I thought you would say McD's. At least it is was40 budget friendly.

there was a manager in training
it was only her second day
and she brought out free kids meal coupons for the girls




















and we were already using the free kid meal coupons from last time
so it was another free dinner night
subtract the coupons and subtract $40 in cowboy cash





















so we left today with two more free kids meals
and still have $10 of the $50 cowboy cash from the original visit
which means we will go back again
DH thinks it is a marketing ploy

Guess how many wet towels need washed after today's swim meet

"vacation"
with them
and stay at their place
this summer





DH is so not into vacationing with relatives
(he got burned out from vacationing with my siblings)

I landed up get two cute polo shirts for 8.00.
Well guess what.................................







I got the right size but they are way too small.
They are going right bak to the store.

DD12 whines everytime we eat at McD's
She loves places they bring you bread, and have silverware that isn't plastic!

with 3 kids, how do you land up with that many towels

The do warm ups a half hour before starting, towel one for each kid
Each kid swims two or three events, so 8-9 more used towels
There are relays at mid-way and the end, up to 6 more towels
(you have to have a good time in that stroke to swim a relay)
then the DD's need a fresh one to dry off with after showering, 2 more
DS is willing to reuse sometimes, and sometimes he is too lazy to walk back for one, and just air drys
