I know it's been a while since the excitement of an HP book or movie but I was watching Chamber of Secrets the other day and had an idea involving Voldemort. How great would it be if when he finally gets killed/defeated all his curses reverse. Harry's parents would be back, Neville's parents would get better. That boy who got killed in the Tri-Wizard competition would come back too (sorry can't remember his name right now). Only thing it wouldn't affect would be the death of Sirius but I would hope it would reverse anyway!

I just wonder why Neville's parents are brought up so much if there isn't going to be some great reversal for them.

My DH insists that Sirius is not dead...that all the people in the 'curtain' are suspended there, not dead, but not part of the mortal world, either. I can buy the logic, as I cried when Sirius 'died'.

Cedric was the boy killed in the Tri Wizard cup.

So, are we excited about the next movie coming out this spring?

That's a great idea ~ I never thought of that.

That would be pretty cool if it happened.

I am excited about the new movie, but I'm really interested to see how they bring Goblet of Fire to the big screen.

And Poohnatic, I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one who cried when Sirius "died".

Okay...I still haven't read the latest Harry Potter novel. I'm waiting for paper back and it looks like I'm in for the long haul

But....there's something wrong with Neville's parents???

Hiya,

That would be pretty great!! (I feel so bad for Neville!!)

However, I just wanted to interject with my personal Sirius theory. I think that she "killed him off" so that he could do something from the 'other world', I'm not sure what, perhaps communicate w/ Harry on behalf of his parents or get all the ghosts of wizards past to help in the fight against Voldemort... something... anyways, I think he will have more to do in the next books because he can't just be dead and that's it. What is the point of that? JK Rowling stated she had to kill him and to me there really seemed little point in it, it added nothing to the book and was just another personal blow for Harry, who, imho, has had enough... so if she *had* to do it that suggests an 'ulterior motive' as it were.... anyways, I guess we shall see!

Sorry for the ramble!
Gaspode

I never thought of that, what a great idea.
Hey Gaspode, did you know that Hogwarts station is really in Yorkshire? (I'm a Yorkshire girl too)

I also cried when Sirius was killed off. I would also love to believe all behind the curtain are not truly dead but in a holding pattern.

that would be really cool!

I am convinced that Sirius is not dead!!

I cried too! My 6 yo DS and I are very excited for the movie. :earseek: Me more then him:)

I remember reading an interview were JK Rowling said one of the firm rules she made when writing the books is "dead " is permanant. I do believe that they will be able to help/communicate with Harry....but never again walk the mortal earth.

I heard about that "had to kill Sirius" and I thought it had something to do with a theory I've heard that Lupin is really Harry's father. The theory goes that they switched bodies at some point when Harry was a baby to protect James. I'm thinking that Sirius had to die so that Harry and Lupin could get a bit closer.

I'm sure there are a lot of holes in this theory, but we'll have to wait and see the final outcome of it all.

Interesting thought. I'm sure J.K. Rowling will have plenty of twists and turns for us in the rest of the series. I hope she'll finish before the turn of the century ;)

I've been thinking about Harry's cousin, Dudley. It seems that Harry saved his life for a purpose to be revealed later. I've been wondering about him somehow coming into play at some point since his mother and Harry's mother are sisters. Isn't that right? :scratchin

I think Dudley's mom, Harry's aunt, whatever-is a squib. Remember how proud Harry's grandparents were of his mom? Wouldn't they maybe be proud because they were witches also? Since she's a squib, she hates witchcraft...kind of bitter, like the janitor guy...Just a theory. She's also awfully cooperative when it comes down to it...like they have a hold over her, which they might if she was from a magic family.

Ahh, I love HP! Something big is in the works for Neville and his family - the whole prophecy thing. While the movies are a nice distraction, it's the books that I pine for. I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.

I think Rowlings "had" to kill Sirius, so Harry would have to go back and live with the Dursley's.

Neville must play an integral part in the coming books, maybe he will actually be the one to defeat Valdemort, making the prophecy partially true, since Dumbledor (sp?) doesn't really believe in all that prophecy stuff.

Does anyone else believe that Harry and Ginny will pair off, as will Harmoinie and Ron?

I think that Siruis "had to die" because Harry needs to travel down some more dark paths before he fulfills his destiny. His bitterness and feelings of being alone, will definetly come into play in the future, as he decides who he will ultimately fight for; His own personal happiness of the safety of the enitire wizarding community (including his friends).
