I know Disney gift cards can technically only hold up top $1,000 on them at a time. Well thing is I put about $2,000 on the same gift card and I'm getting a refund for that trip cause we cancelled and rescheduled. Do I get the 2,000 back on the original card or am I going to end up with two $1,000 gift cards. Thanks in advance!

I think you’re going to end up with a problem. I suspect they’ll attempt to send the whole amount back to the method of payment and it will be rejected. You’ll probably need to call them up and have them issue it as two gift cards mailed to you.

Thanks I figured it would be a hiccup. I just wanted to ask cause I want to make sure I get all that money back.

You might be the guinea pig on this. When they closed out the DVA accounts they did a max of 2k on each card, so I (and many others) had $1995 on one gift card when they paid out. So maybe it'll work and just go back on the one card you paid with? Always wondered what would have happened if someone with one of these cards had to get a refund.

Update I'm getting two new GCs with $1000 on each
