On the heels of the surprising someone with something nice thread...

What will you do this trip to spread the magic?
I think we should all post our intentions here, to give us some accountability and to share ideas. Just because Walt isn't there anymore, doesn't mean he isn't alive in all of us! :goodvibes:

First - I am giving away a free tie-dyed Hidden Mickey tee to an October family, since we're going October 1st.

Second - I'm ordering glow necklaces in lime green (yay, DIS!) to hand out at Wishes - with this printed out:

Third - we're going to get something inedible to hand out to the trick-or-treaters at MNSSHP. It's our first year and I'm thinking orange glow necklaces or bracelets or something - with this:

Feel free to use any of my Random Acts of Kindness cards and print them on envelopes for Fast Passes to hand out - or just a little note "from Mickey" or "from Cinderella" to make a little one's day :) Or even "happy birthday" - I always stop and say "happy birthday" to any of the kids who have the button on. :)

I have bought glow necklaces to give out during parades. I had bought 50, but I just ordered 100 more.
:cool1:
I ordered some bubbles yesterday to take with us and hand out.
:flower:
I have cards I am going to print up for CMs and Mousekeeping.

And I plan to keep my eye out while I am there to be ready to lend any help I can to anyone who needs it.

:earsgirl:

I love the Trick or Treat idea at MNSSHP! What night are you going? Maybe I will hand out the orange glow necklaces on a different night? Hmm, We're going on a Wishes cruise..maybe I will do something special for the 24 people on the boat? This is a great thread ! I can't wait to see the odeas everyone has!

I think its GREAT what you are doing! We usually give away extras of something we have- suntan lotion, autograph books, etc- its a great feeling!!

Where are you ordering your glow necklaces from? I think that is a great idea and I would love to do it in December when we go down. DS is so outgoing I know he will love handing out the necklaces to "friends" he meets along the way!

Those are great ideas! :flower: There will be some happy "pixie-dusted" folks aound the parks in October.

-We plan on giving out glow sticks each night at the nighttime shows.
-We will have some CM cards made to give to any CMs we think are doing a great job- or just look like they could use some Magic.
-We will be giving our Mousekeepers their tips in special "Thank You" envelopes.
-Whenever we have extra FPs, we will give them to someone.

I love your idea of the cards to give out with the glow sticks- we might steal it! We will be there the same time as you- maybe we will "dust" each other!!! :wizard:

I love your idea! :jumping1: We are also going to MNSSHP and I would love to give out some orange glow necklaces or bracelets! Does anyone know where to get the orange ones?? I also will be on the look out for other Halloween themed "treats" to hand out the the CM's at the party! Great thread! :jumping1: I will love seeing everyones ideas!

"When there's smile in your heart...There's no better time to start...Think of all the joy you'll find...When you leave the world behind...And bid you cares good-bye".............

Sounds like October is going to have some disney magic!

I would be tickled pink to see another DISer - or even another child who has been gifted - with a glow necklace! :)

We're going on the 2nd and please don't let me stop you from doing the same thing on the same night :) I love it!!!

Maybe I should put the board's URL on the cards - so people know about this place. :)

Try www.orientaltrading.com they have Orange and orange swizzle necklaces - and they have "yellow" glow necklaces, but they look aaawwwfuully lime green to me ;) LOL

Cool! :cool1: We're going on Oct 6...so I'm gonna steal your idea if that's ok :flower: I looked at OrientalTrading...& the glow necklaces are $1.00 each...I wonder if I can find them cheaper...gonna look. I'd like to make up little cards to go with it, but not sure I could make them look as cute as yours! lol but I might try. I think I will give out 50 on MNSSHP and then do necklaces & bracelts on the Peter Pan cruise on the 8th (shhh don't tell anyone...I'm going with 2 other DIS'ers!). now I need to figure out a treat for the CM's on MNSSHP...my kids LOVE what we call "reverse TOT'ing)...we always go to our friends houses on Halloween & ding dong & leave them a big basket of goodies.

When leaving a park for our afternoon break, or leaving on our final day, we grab FPs for one of the major rides with a long line (whichever one we're near) and pick someone on the way out (DNeph loves this part) and ask them if they'd like the FPs - always gets a surprised "Thanks!" and a big smile. :sunny:

Oriental Trading Co also has Nemo, Princesses, Incredibles, Blues Clues, Mickey, and Minnie stickers on rolls of 100 for $4.95 ea. Just got a catalog in the mail today!

In the spring of 2001, DH and I travelled to San Francisco, Yosemite, Sonoma and Napa. While at a very nice restaurant in SF (Faralon), I was watching the table next to me as the food was being brought out. I apologized for my staring, and we started talking to the people at the next table. They were so nice, a father and an adult daughter, who lived in Oakland, and were at this restaurant to support a new manager, who they knew from another restaurant. We talked out our trip, and how we loved the west coast, and how different it was from our home state of NJ.

They left before us, and when we were ready for our bill, the manager came out, and said, "I know the man that sat next to you, and he is a very generous person. It is not unusual for him to put money towards the bill of someone he meets, and he likes. I want you to know, that he put $100 to your bill tonight." DH and I were blown away! That was so unexpected! And we left a very big tip!

We were amazed! This man is a permanant part of my memory, for his extreme generosity and kindness.

I would like to do something like that for someone, when I am in a position that I have $ to burn! It would be especiallly exciting to do this at a WDW restaurant!

Oooh I LOOVE this idea!!! :) :goodvibes

I usually buy 1 rack pin per day of stay and give one away each day to a child that is pin trading. No trade in return either. Free pin. It's a great feeling too.

I JUST LOVE THIS IDEA! You are my kind of person. Thanks for sharing. I plan to make this part of our routine as well.

It just takes some magic and trust and a little bit of pixie dust...

Thanks!!!

A rack pin is a pin that you can buy at any "rack" that is located in one of the parks or hotel you are staying at. It's a standard pin that is not cast member only, lanyard trading only, or limited edition, that anyone can buy. They usually cost between $6 and $7.

Random acts of kindness go a long way...or as some people say, pay it forward.

What a sweet thing to do! :)

What is a "rack pin"?

ok, will go back and read, but I just wanted some input, we are really broke, we take our food and live here, so we don't spened any $$. We do give out CM cards, but what are some ideas (we do the FP one) of free things I may not have thought of to do?
I do let ppl go in front of us in line, give tips and hints, etc....but I want to do more especially since I am there so much and MJ is the object of so many good things there.

MommytoMJM -
Not sure if this is something that people would like - but since people here at the Dis has so much information - how about passing out tricia cards about the park to kids (when you go to the Muppets MOvie - what is under the welcome rug'???) - then give the parent the answer incase they can't find it--A little trivia card to the families you see?

YOu could make cards for each park you plan to attend and then share with others - not sure if that is an idea you like - but could be fun to plan :)

Have fun what ever you choose - I like the idea of the necklaces (wonder if I could slide those my my husband :) HEHEHE)

Hugs all! Great thread
