The menu looks pretty good and semi-diverse. Is it authentic or Taco Bellish?

:thanks:

We just ate there for the first time 2 days ago. I thought it was actually pretty decent. The tortillas are definately taco bell/grocery store, not authentic/homemade but the meat and veggies inside were both very good. In face I loved the spices/sauce the chicken was cooked in. The rice was ok, slightly dry and bland but edible and the beans were decent, although I can't think of how you could mess up refried beans besides under/over cooking them. I had the chicken burrito and DH had the chicken taco and both of us enjoyed our meal and would go back.

Probably my favorite restaurant in DL.

The burritos are HUGE. There is a chicken dish that is delish and giant. The salads are good.

Enjoy!

Definately a step or two above taco bell. I think I had the cheese enchaladas and they were yummy. I also tried the chicken dish and it was good. The rice was dry but I can make spanish rice so, to me most restaurants don't make rice all that good anyhow. I gave this restaurant a good rating on yelp. I will return again.:thumbsup2

Agree with everyone else here! The enchiladas are very good. I would call it mainstream America Mexican. I won't tell you what I call Taco Bell :rotfl:

I'll take it then! :thumbsup2 The portions sounds big too.

Last year for dinner we ordered two of the 1/2 chicken dinners, a bag of the lemon tortilla chips (OMG so good!), and a fruit plate. It fed 3 adults and 3 kids for less than $35 if I recall correctly. We thought the food and ambience of the courtyard at night were really good, and will probably go there next week when we are there.

Ate there for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We have real good Mexican food near us, so we have never eaten there in 15+ trips. I was actually surprised, I had the Tostada and it was good, when I added hot sauce. My Son had a kid's burrito, that was a Taco Bell clone.

I was looking at the AllEars menu for Rancho del Zocalo because I was thinking of trying the cheese enchiladas on my next trip, but the platter includes 4! Would it be acceptable to split the enchiladas with DBF without a split plate fee? I only want to split the enchiladas, not the sides. There's no way I could eat 4 all by myself. TIA!

Its counter service (not table service) so you can split anything any way you want with no extra fee.

It is counter service. You can order whatever you want. You can get 1 entree, 2 drinks and a dessert to share. No extra charges.

So glad the reviews are good. We can stand only so many burgers and fries. We ate there years ago when it was named something else and the name escapes me.

I bet at night the atmosphere is good too. We always seem to end up in Fronteirland and Adventureland at night.

I think you're going the same time as me. They usually have a special tamale platter during the holiday season that is really good. I'm a big fan of enchiladas, but their tamales blew their enchiladas out of the water.

Thank you both for your help! :goodvibes I assumed this was the case since it's a counter service restaurant, but I just wanted to make sure.

Keep in mind the enchiladas are not standard size, they are more taquito size. That said DBF and I share them many times, we really enjoy them!! If we get our own plates I get the grilled veggies instead of the beans but that's because I don't like refried beans that much. :)

Ambiance is fantastic at night! One of my favorites other than Cafe Orleans while F! is happening. :thumbsup2
