Ramada Inn Maingate - Pictures

Has anybody stayed here recently? I'm trying to find the most economical hotel that is walking distance from the park for my mother. :) This one is the front runner! Thanks.

Can't give you any info yet but we're staying there next week so if there's no rush, I'll get you some pics/reviews then :cool1:

We are going to be staying there next week too! I was actually booked at Alpine Inn until I saw this thread and decided to check this place out. I found it for only $200 more and it is so much closer so I changed our reservation to this place! I am so excited about being right across the street now!

Reallllly wish I could see the pics on here! I tried looking with Internet Explorer as well as my Firefox, but nothin! :(

Thinking about staying here this year, is it still a nice place? I see reviews haven't been done in over a year. Thanks!

The Ramda has delux rooms that were all remodled a year plus ago, the rest of the rooms about a year before. So it has the newest set of rooms across from the parks. Though since some have a couple years of wear they aren't prefect.People have reported really liking those Delux rooms that are at the back.

Currently it is getting a new pool with a kids water play area that will be done for this summer.

If the price looks good it's a decent choice. You can use the cope LRM for a free upgrade to the deluxes, or LP3W for 15% off if you book and pay 15 days or more in advance.

For everyone asking if this place is nice, I would say it is. I mean, no it's not the GCH! But the room I had was updated and modern and the place is soooooo close to the parks!! I just stayed here in January. I really wish I took good photos of the rooms but we were having too much fun that it slipped my mind! :( But we had no problems with front desk or anything. Rooms were always clean when we returned for a mid-day break to grab sweatshirts and stuff.
However, and I know this goes for a lot of hotels, but on the 2nd day, one of my friends left a shirt on the bed, so housekeeping left the bed unmade. It took us a while to figure out why only one bed was made that day until we finally spotted the shirt! So make sure nothing personal is left on the beds or they might not get made. The first night though, my friend left some socks on the bed, and when we got back, the bed was made and the socks were folded nicely on top. :) So it depends on who's taking care of your room that day I guess!
Other than that little thing (which really wasn't an issue seeing as though it was our fault :)) we encountered no problems whatsoever. Bathroom was great, didn't watch much TV except for Disney Channel at night (of course ;)). Room had a mini fridge and microwave.
Great hotel!

I did hear they are doing a remodel soon, so you may want to email or call them to double check on that and if it will interfere with your stay.

If you have AAA you can get special rates! Also, if anyone of you get certain discounts through work, check if this place is one of them. My friend works at Target and he had a corporate code which we combined with my AAA discount and got a VERY good deal. the lady at the check in was even like "wow!! what a great rate!!"

We stayed there last summer for 9 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very reasonably priced $89 a night...plus they had a special that if you stayed more than 3 nights, you could turn in a gas reciept for up to $40 and they would reimburse you that amount. :thumbsup2

The rooms were clean and customer service was very good. I had called before my visit, because we had reserved 3 rooms and wanted them all together. They gave us a free upgrade to the premium rooms, which were very nice. And all three rooms were together even though we all arrived on different days.

First off, it isn't the Ritz. And I dare say, HoJo's has nicer rooms. But, the Ramada-ATP is closer and has a free (not fancy) continental breakfast, and the pool is in a nice sunny spot and is pretty good sized. We swam almost every day and I never go swimming when we visit DLR.

The only negative I had was the WIFI was spotty. Of course my laptop is older. My daughter's laptop is new and she had much better luck connecting than I did.

I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

If you are on Facebook "like" them and they have specials on their Facebook page. Ramada Maingate - ATP.

We just stayed there on February 17-22 and we had a great time (this was Ramada Maingate -apparently there's another Ramada nearby). We even had a older room as the remodelled ones were all booked up. The carpets were a little dated but they were clean. The beds were great (pillows were a little lumpy but not too bad) and you can't beat the distance to the parks. I LOVED being so close. It was quiet too even though it was on a busy road. We just ran the fan all night and slept like babies.

We checked in and out in about 5 minutes flat and housekeeping was great. We even got to see a full few of the fireworks from right outside our room (second floor). That was a pleasant surprise as our kids were always too exhausted to stay at the parks that long.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. Like others said, its not fabulous like the CGH would be (from what I've heard) but if you are planning on spending most of the time in Disney anyway, its great.

Some cons: the breakfast was pretty terrible but they have a GREAT coffee shop right on the property that makes breakfast sandwiches and REAL coffee and cream (yes, hotel offered fake stuff only). Also, the pool was closed for renos. It was too cold to swim and we didn't have the time anyway so it was no big deal but it might be for some.

we booked this hotel for july. 4 nights for 500 plus a $150 mastercard debit card. ill post some reviews, too.

we just stayed from the 23rd to the 27th of july. it was a great trip. we booked through expedia and paid for a single queen room, but we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a king room that had been recently remodeled. the front desk people were all very nice, we had some short convos about our dogs, and she said our kindness was the reason why we got an upgrade.
The room was not ready when we got in, about 12:30pm so we went and wondered the park and what not. We came back around 4:00pm and got our room key. we were in room towards the back of the lot on the 2nd level.

as we walked in it was small 2 step hallway, into the entire room. the first thing we noticed were two towel folded into swans "kissing" into a heart shape. the decor, or lack there of was ok, but felt dated due to the dark green carpet. a poor choice for looks, but it never looked dirty.

the bed was pretty firm, though not surprised since it was a budget hotel. we found the 5-6 pillows provided were comfortable. there was a couch, which we didnt really use aside from tossing a jacket or two on it.

the bathroom was ok size, barely enough for the both of us to be in there at the same to get ready. the shower had plenty of hot water, very good pressure and an adjustable pressure shower head. the light switch and fan switch were outside the room, which kind of sucked, but it was ok unless someone wanted to play a prank...

the provided breakfast was adequate. it is in a room right next to the pool, so it is centrally located to nearly all of the rooms. it is a very tight space for getting the food and drinks. they have at least one onsite person constantly replenishing the food. during a couple of the mornings there were two ladies. They provided danishes, powdered and chocolate doughnuts, apples, oranges, bananas when available, basic wheat and white bread, hard boiled eggs, dry oats for oatmeal and 2 varying kinds of cereal. there was coffee, milk, oj, apple j and water from dispensing machines. there were packaged condiments, like jellies and sugars, fake butter and what not for everything.
after grabbing what you wanted you would head outside to the 3-4 tables to eat your food. we usually would end up on a pool lounge chair eating while resting our things on the tables next to the chairs. it was all decent food, pretty good for being free, and definitely satisfying enough to hold us over until an earlyish lunch. they have an onsite pizza place we tried, it was a good value, and a minute mart type store for snacks and water for other food choices.

my only gripe with the stay was during 2 out of the 4 mornings, you would hear what sounded like water going through the pipes. it was kind of loud, and it seemed like it happend when the neighboring room would flush the toilet or maybe run the shower. we did not notice the sound during the middle of the day or anytime at night. it technically was annoying, but since we were basically up anyway, it was almost a non-issue.

i, overall, was very happy with the stay at the ramada maingate. with a less than 10 minute walk to disneyland,a room rate of $104, free parking, free breakfast and a really nice staff, this vacation was worth every penny.

we are planning a couple more trips in the near future and we will definitely look into staying here again.

Thanks for the updated review! Did you use the pool at all? Their photos make it look like quite a fun place for kids.

we only used the pool 1 day. it was nice but really cold, for us anyway. we currently live in vegas, so our pool and weather experiences are generally quite warmer.

each day the pool was occupied by kids and adults alike. the spray fountain things had kids in them and the pool was a good enough size that a lot of the kids were playing Marco Polo. the pool had pretty good sun light until around 5-6pm, depending on clouds.

if we had kids, i think they would enjoy the pool area. it goes from about 2ft slowly building up to 5ft and you can watch a good amount of the pool from the seats surrounding the area.
