We have a rate of $29.00 for The Ramada Eastgate-Fountain Park. I can also get The Best Western in DTD for $59.00. Has anyone stayed at the Ramada? For half the price of Best Western, I'm VERY TEMPED to stay there. But, if it's not very nice, we'll stay at the Best Western (which I am familiar with). Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I stayed at the Ramada Plaza, I think it was maingate (corner of Old Lake Wilson Rd & 192) in February. It was gross & old & nasty & dirty & our socks were filthy if we walked with out shoes on in the room, the bathroom was small & dark. It was the worst hotel I have stayed in in Orlando. I received this via a timeshare deal that came with Universal Studios tickets from fairfield.

From what I understand, most of the Ramadas are not in good shape & are getting pretty run down. I personally will never stay in a Ramada again!

Also, when I stayed at the Best Western DTD last year with a priceline bid, I felt it to be in need of repair & getting pretty old too but no where near as bad as the room at the ramada. I do understand the Best Western has gone thru renovations since my stay tho so it might be better now.

Pluto, maybe you can search further on someof the hotel discount websites such as hotelkingdom.com or hotelmartusa.com. for a few bucks more, you can probably come up with something better but I strongly suggest turning down the $29 rate at the ramada.

Thanks Melissa,
The "little voice" inside my head kept saying "I don't think so".
I guess I just needed someone to confirm it for me.

I think you will find that the last post was referring to the Ramada Plaza Maingate and not eastgate. I stayed at the plaza a year ago and found it very clean, friendly and ideally situated. This Christmas We are booked in the Ramada Fountain park which is near Kissimmee Old town. It looks ok but you get what you pay for, how much time will you spend in your room anyway?
I would be interested in any views of people who have stayed there also.

We booked the $29 rate for the Ramada. We were in orlando last week and decided to check it out. It looks run down. I decided to cancel and went with Priceline.

My friends and I stayed at the Ramada Eastgate Fountainpark in May of 2001. It was run down then so if there have been no repairs i can only imagine.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible. There were water stains on the outer wall and the bathroom was very dated. No bugs though! whew!

Being college students with limited funds the $29 a night won us over and the fact that we were hardly ever at the hotel except to swim at night and sleep. It was good enough for us at that time.

For this time though, no way! My boyfriend and I can afford something better.

I wouldn't recommend staying there.

We're staying at the Comfort Suites maingate East this time with a $55 a night rate (hotelmartusa.com) It was awarded the best Inn of 2002.

I can't wait :)
