Also, take a look at Apex. To me I would choose Apex over Cary now.

I have lived in Raleigh and Cary. Currently, I live in Morrisville, which is fabulous. It is easy to get to Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill and Apex. Excellent location to me.

I am 33 born and raised in North Carolina I lived in Raleigh for over 10 years and now in GREENSBORO the last 5 years and I think Greensboro is great the location is much better than Raleigh. I noticed that people on here that say Raleigh is better because the cities near Raleigh such as Cary(very boring and over priced) and chapel hill, unless you plan on going to school at UNC, duke, or NC state then its best each area and make the best decisions based off the best career opportunities for you and you family because neither area is very scenic nor exciting but both are great places to live, honestly they are only an hour apart and coming from a highly congested area like NJ traffic and drive time will be far less stressful here...hope you and your family enjoy our state.

I live in Chapel Hill (Durham county portion) but did live in Raleigh as a young adult. I would not move to Raleigh with school age kids. The school system there is so screwed up. They have to move kids around in schools every year because of the growth. Your child may end of going to a different school every year depending on where you live. Apex and Cary on in the same school system (Wake County Schools).

I would choose Greensboro for sure. (My DD is in college there now).

Taking advantage of this thread, do any of you know anything about Jamestown, NC? My daughter and her friend are interested in this area. Jamestown seems like a nice, quaint little town and close enough to larger cities for quick trips.
