Raleigh-Durham Airport

We have never been there so any info. would be great. We are flying out on June 1 to MCO for $39.00 round trip thanks to SW!! How is parking and how much? Is it bigger/smaller than Greensboro?

I live in Boston but fly into RDU very often, and have had a layover in Greensboro just once. But I can tell you that RDU is the larger of the two. RDU handles nearly 10 times the amount of passengers. But coming from Boston/Logan, RDU has the feeling of a small airport, least to me anyways.

Parking is also pretty reasonable, they have added an additional parking garage in the last year or so. You can check parking rates here:

Compare those prices to the $36/day you'd get in Boston, you're doing real good.

We're closer to to Greensboro, but almost always fly out of RDU. RDU is MUCH larger than GSO, and there is much more to do while waiting for the plane.

The cheap parking is in satelite parking lots. Lot 3 is before you get to the congestion of the airport; Lot 4 is after. We usually drop the bags off, and check in, then go park the car in Lot 4 and ride the shuttle bus in.

Security takes more time at RDU, bacause there are more passengers. I find the airport to be very easy to navigate, except on a Friday evening--then it is quite crowded.

Thanks for the responses! I have only flown once and that was out of Greensboro so the info. really helps! NCRedding, we live much closer to Greensboro too, about 30 minutes from the airport. I got all 3 tickets for the price and a little more for 1 ticket from GSO so I couldn't pass a deal like that up. Thank you both so much.
