"Substantial Rainfall"!!!?? NO! I just want a sprinkle. A drizzle. Even some rain. Not a down pour!
IMHO, we will be having off and on significant rain maybe starting as early as Monday night through the end of the month. If we get rain on Monday evening, it'll be light. This is a cut-off low and is really hard to predict. A couple models are calling for off and on light rain during this period, however some are calling for heavy rain at times. So, CalvaryMike (a.k.a the DIS boards weatherman) I know it's hard to tell for sure at this point but are you saying that you predict rain on Dec. 1st? Oh, I hope not. We're planning on taking my MIL who has never seen the Christmas decorations at DLR. If it was just us then the rain would't bother me too much but we can't bring DS if it looks like rain all day so we would have to cancel.

Here is a model predicting heavy rain for the 29th (a 12 hour period):"While our city is already in the process of cleaning up, we must address another critical issue immediately," said Yorba Linda Mayor Jim Winder. "These mudflows may result in significant property damage, and even life-threatening emergencies."
Winder warned residents to be prepared to evacuate.
Residents should put sandbags around their property, Winder said; the city will distribute free sandbags to residents. Volunteers will begin moving sandbags to the burned areas today, and city employees will install concrete barriers around the city to redirect any mudflows.
AFTER THE FIRST OF DECEMBER WITH ALL SORTS OF POSSIBILITIES. THERE IS A MJO IN THE WESTERN PACIFIC THAT WILL PLAY AN IMPORTANT PART IN OUR SENSIBLE WEATHER THE FIRST CALENDER WEEK OF DECEMBER. EVERYTHING FROM AN "ARCTIC LOW" TO A BREAK THROUGH OF THE WESTERLIES UNDER A BLOCKING HIGH OVER ALASKA, LATE IN THAT PERIOD IS POSSIBLE. THAT WEEK COULD BE A VERY EXCITING WEATHER WEEK FOR FOLKS IN CALIFORNIA.
Remember: Rain is SoCal is NOT like rain every where else. It's not that cold and its fun!!!!!!
I'm with you; rain will not derail our Disneyland plans!I would go anyway! I am from portland oregon so rain is just a part of life. My DH and I will probably jump in puddles and skip around the park if it pours and no one is there lol once you are wet you are wet so just try to enjoy!![]()
Rainy days at DLR are the BEST!!!!!! You go in your poncho and just HAVE FUN!!!! It feels like it's just you and about 75 other people! When it pours, DLR is the first place I go!!!!!
BY (Monday) NOON THE GFS HAS THE STORM 600 NM WEST OF POINT CONCEPTION AND ALSO SHOW A GOOD SLUG OF SUB TROPICAL MOISTURE WEST OF THE BAJA PENINSULA. THE RAIN WILL VERY LIKELY HOLD OFF UNTIL NIGHT TIME.
OVERNIGHT AS BOTH THE STORM AND THE SUB TROPICAL MOISTURE CONVERGE ON SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BOTH THE CLOUDS AND CHANCE OF RAIN WILL INCREASE. BY DAWN RAIN WILL BE LIKELY OVER THE ENTIRE CWA EXCEPT FOR THE ANTELOPE VLY. THE ONE VERY IMPORTANT ITEM FOR THIS PERIOD IS A JET MAX THAT WILL BE OVERHEAD FROM AROUND MIDNIGHT TO DAWN. THIS JET ENERGY COULD VERY WELL PRODUCE SOME THUNDERSTORMS AND TRAINING CELLS MOVING FROM SOUTH TO NORTH RIGHT INTO THE SOUTH FACING SLOPES. THIS SCENARIO WOULD BRING MUCH MORE RAIN TO THE AREA THAN CURRENTLY FORECAST AND WILL HAVE TO BE MONITORED VERY CAREFULLY.
SNOW AMOUNTS SHOULD NOT BE TOO GREAT AS MOST OF THE PRECIP WILL HAVE FALLEN BEFORE THE COLDER AIR ARRIVES. LOOK FOR 2 INCH AMOUNTS AT THE 6500 FOOT LEVEL AND 2 TO 4 INCHES AT THE RESORT LEVELS.
