so it looks like this Friday is going to be a rainy day in Orlando. I was planning to take my two boys to AK for the day but I feel like that wouldn't be as much fun in the rain. We would be going to see the animals and my oldest to ride Everest. Not a big deal if we don't go, we will have been at MK on Thursday and have all weekend to park hop.

So, if it rainy what are your favorite things to do or see outside of the parks? We check into our Disney resort that day so I thought it would be fun to just ride the monorail around and check out the other resorts? Boardwalk?

Any suggestions? Any places for lunch out if that parks that has that true Disney kitch?

Thanks in advance for suggestions!!!

Thoughts on these options.....?

1) late breakfast at 1900 Park Fare?

Or

2) just bite the bullet and go to Hollywood studios? Would we be drenched and not really see it all?

How about lunch at T-Rex and spend some time at World of Disney, Once Upon a Toy, and Lego Store at Disney Springs?

You can make almost a whole day at DS. If you don't mind resort hoping, from DS, I'd head to AKL and spend some time in both Jambo and Kidani village. The animal viewing is great and there are fun things to do at each resort. If you go in the evening, they have night viewing of the animals at both locations (Jambo is a bit better though due to lack of out door lighting). This is a free event but you need to wait your turn to do it. A very cool thing to do with kids.
If you are staying on property, check with the front desk for games you can play in the resort. They normally have some sort of scavenger hunt available to play (DH & I have done them at Kidani). Most people don't know they are available for the asking.
Wilderness Lodge also has a hidden Mickey's scavenger hunt and a hotel tour available for free.
From what I'm hearing locally to Tampa (close to where I live) it should not be a whole day event but mother nature is fickle.
Have fun!

I actually love rainy days at Disney World because the crowds are smaller, but if you're looking to avoid the weather I would certainly have fun taking my time at Disney Springs. A nice leisurely character meal followed by shopping at Disney Springs would be fun, even if you don't actually buy anything. Resort hopping would also be fun too.
